Tigers Topple Titans For First Section Win Of 2020

North Allegheny secured the first conference win of the fall with a 2-0 victory over Shaler Saturday night at Newman Stadium.

The Tigers spent a majority of the game in the offensive zone, specifically in the first half.  After a couple of good looks in front of the Titan net, junior forward Evan Anderson buried the first marker of the game off of a sharp feed from senior Kensly Owens from the far side of the field with 22:02 left in the half. Later in the period, Anderson thought he had a second goal in the game after taking a pass from junior Zoha Peterson, but the officials deemed him offside.

It didn’t take much time for NA to find the twine the second half. Kensly Owens took the shot from about 15 yards out to give the Tigers the 2-0 lead with 38:39 left in the game.

Senior goalkeeper Regan Racicot earned the shutout for North Allegheny.

Owens was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game after scoring two points.

Shaler has yet to score a goal in the 2020 season, and fall to 0-3 in both conference and overall play. The Titans take on Butler at home Tuesday night.

North Allegheny improves to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in section play on the season. The Tigers hit the road to face Seneca Valley Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
