BOYS' GOLF MATCH SUMMARIES NORTHGATE NO MATCH FOR TIGERS, 187-233 The Tigers traveled to Shannopin GC on Tuesday afternoon and easily downed Northgate, 187-233. Senior Byron Doll posted a two under 33 to pace NA with junior Zack Wessel adding a 37 and senior Jim Davis a 38 for the winning Tigers. Junior Mark Jackson posted a 39 and senior Nate Kreutzer contributed a 40 as NA won their second straight match. According to Coach Rittman, Shannopin was hit hard by Sunday night's storm and was not in the best condition. Despite the downed trees and freshly aerated greens, the Tigers came through with a great score to earn the victory against the Flames. With the win, the NA section record improved to 8-1, the overall mark to 9-2 on the season. The Tigers will travel to New Castle tomorrow afternoon to meet the 'Canes in a section match at Sylvan Heights GC. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. MATCH SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGERS REBOUND TO CRUSH SHALER, 183-215 After a tough loss to North Hills, the Tigers came back strong with a 183-215 victory over Shaler at Diamond Run on Thursday afternoon. Senior Jim Davis shot a one under 34 to lead the way with seniors Nate Kreutzer and Byron Doll adding 36s for the winning Tigers. Doll eagled the number 9 par 5 hole. Junior Mark Jackson added a 37 and junior Jake Wrigley a 40. As Coach DeDe Rittman put it, "Great playing, team!!" With the win, the NA section record improved to 7-1, the overall mark to 8-2. The Tigers will be back in action again on Tuesday when they travel to Shannopin CC to meet Northgate in a 3:30 pm section match. MATCH SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * NORTH HILLS STUNS TIGERS, 188-199 The North Hills Indians upset the Tigers, 188-199, at Highland CC on Tuesday afternoon to hand NA their first section loss. Senior Byron Doll led NA with a 36, including an eagle on the first hole, with senior Jim Davis close behind with a 37. Ross Fichter and Jack Ross both posted 34s for North Hills. With the loss, the NA record fell to 6-1, the overall mark to 7-2. The Tigers will host Shaler tomorrow afternoon in a 3:30 pm section match at Diamond Run. MATCH SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * SHADY SIDE STOPS TIGER STREAK, 184-211 The Tigers had their seven-match winning streak stopped on Friday afternoon when they lost to Shady Side, 184-211, at the always tough Fox Chapel Golf Club. Juniors Zack Wessel and Mark Jackson led NA with 41s. Brian Gross shot an even par 35 to pace Shady Side. With the loss, the overall NA record fell to 7-1. The Tigers will travel to Highland CC tomorrow afternoon to meet rival North Hills. Match time is scheduled for 3:00 pm. MATCH SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGERS TOP BUTLER, 206-214, TO REMAIN UNBEATEN The Tigers defeated Butler, 206-214, in a key section match at Diamond Run on Thursday afternoon. Junior Jake Wrigley took medalist honors with a 38 while senior Nate Kreutzer added a 40 for the winning Tigers. Christian Mato led Butler with a 40. With the win, the Tigers improved their section record to 6-0, the overall mark to 7-0. NA will travel to the Fox Chapel Golf Club to meet Shady Side Academy this afternoon in a 3:00 pm non-section match. MATCH SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * DAVIS LEADS TIGERS OVER SENECA VALLEY, 190-200 Senior Jim Davis shot a one under 34 to pace the Tigers to a 190-200 section victory over Seneca Valley at Diamond Run on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Nate Kreutzer and junior Zack Wessel posted 38s while senior Donny Lewis and junior Mark Jackson added 40s for the winning Tigers. Mike McNulty led Seneca with an even par 35. With the win, the Tigers remained unbeaten in section play with a 5-0 record. NA will host Butler this afternoon in a key section match at Diamond Run. Tee off time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * PINE-RICHLAND FALLS TO TIGERS, 186-203 Even a hard rain could not stop the Tigers from rolling to another victory as NA posted an impressive 186-203 victory over Pine-Richland at Treesdale CC on Thursday afternoon. Senior Byron Doll led the way with a one under 35 while seniors Nate Kreutzer and Donny Lewis posted even par 36s for the winning Tigers. Senior Jim Davis was just one stroke back at 37. With the win, the Tigers improved their section record to 4-0, the overall mark to 5-0 in the early season. FOR NEW CASTLE Seniors Jim Davis and Byron Doll shot one over 36s to lead the Tigers to a 187-217 victory over New Castle at Diamond Run on Tuesday afternoon. Junior Zack Wessel was one stroke behind at 37 while senior Nate Kreutzer posted a 38 as the Tigers won their third straight section match without a loss. The overall NA record improved to 4-0 with the victory. The Tigers will travel to Treesdale CC tomorrow afternoon to meet the Pine-Richland Rams in a section contest. Senior Jim Davis led the way with a one under 35 at Meadowlink GC with seniors Donny Lewis and Byron Doll adding 37s for the winning Tigers. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * KREUTZER, DOLL LEAD TIGERS OVER NORTHGATE, 189-252 On a beautiful late summer afternoon at Diamond Run Golf Club, seniors Nate Kreutzer and Byron Doll both posted 36s with two birdies each to pace the Tigers to an easy 189-252 section victory over Northgate on Thursday afternoon. Senior Jim Davis and Donny Lewis, along with junior Mark Jackson, added 39s as the Tigers improved their section record to 2-0. Seniors led the way with Jim Davis posting a 36, Nate Kreutzer a 38, Donny Lewis a 39, and Byron Doll a 40. NA will host Northgate tomorrow as section play continues. FINISH 3rd AT Senior Jim Davis won medalist honors after winning a two-hole playoff at the Peters Township Invitational on Monday morning at Valleybrook Country Club. The Tiger team finished in third place behind host Peters Township and Central Catholic. Davis finished in a a tie with Corey Martinez of Peters with a score of 74. NA totaled 408 in the team competition. The Tigers will travel to Shaler this afternoon for the section opener. Tee off time at Pittsburgh North GC is scheduled for 3:00 pm. PETERS
