NORTH ALLEGHENY VARSITY
BOWLING ROCHESTER FALLS TO TIGER TEAMS Both Tiger teams were victorious over Rochester on Wednesday afternoon at the Beaver Valley Bowling Lanes. The boys edged the Rams, 4-3, while the Lady Tigers posted a 7-0 shutout victory. For the boys, junior Chris Sinagra led the way with a 598 series including a game of 224. Junior Justin Thomson rolled a 516 series with a high game of 183 while junior Danny Schulties recorded a 511 with a 187 as his high game. The Lady Tigers were led by freshman Meredith Michalojko with a series of 488 followed by senior Laura St. Onge with a 443 and sophomore Maria Frantz with a 442. Michalojko had the individual game high with a 180. With the win, the boys' record improved to 5-1 to take over first place in the section while the Lady Tigers are now 4-2. The Tiger teams will host Beaver Falls on Wednesday afternoon at the Perry Park Lanes with match time scheduled for 3:30 pm. MATCH

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS SPLIT WITH NORTH HILLS The Tiger teams began the new year with a split with North Hills. The boys' team edged the rival Indians, 4-3, while the Lady Tigers dropped a 5-2 decision. Junior Justin Thomson led NA with a series total of 592 and a section high individual game total of 253. Junior Danny Schulties was second with a 573 while junior Chris Sinagra posted a 556. Schulties also rolled an 217 with sophomore Kevin Koleck adding a 201. Junior Maria Frantz paced the Lady Tigers with a 492 series and individual game highs of 184 and 179. Freshman Meredith Michalojko was second with a 478 while senior Kelly McCullough was third with a 453. With the win, the boys moved into second place with a 4-1 record, just two points behind first -place North Hills. The girls dropped into third place with a 3-2 record. Next up for the Tiger teams is a trip to Rochester to meet the Rams. Match time next Wednesday is scheduled for 3:30 pm. MATCH

FROM Both Tiger teams were victorious against Quaker Valley on Wednesday afternoon at the Fair Oaks Bowling Lanes. The boys shut out the Quakers, 7-0, while the Lady Tigers won a close 4-3 decision. Junior Chris Sinagra led the boys with a 578 series followed closely by junior Danny Schulties with a 573 and sophomore Kevin Koleck with a 567. In individual game scores, Koleck led with a 230 followed by Sinagra with games of 226 and 213, and Schulties with a 225. Junior Mike Guersey rolled a 221 for the winning Tigers. Senior Kelly McCullough led the Lady Tigers with a 591 series including an individual game high of 181. Sophomore Maria Frantz followed with a 455 series total with freshman Meredith Michalojko chipping in with a 427 as NA won the narrow victory. With the wins, both NA teams improved their section records to 3-1 in section play. The Tigers teams will be back in action on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, when they visit rival North Hills for a 3:30 pm match. MATCH

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * LADY TIGERS FALL TO
AMBRIDGE, 7-0; The Lady Tigers lost their first match of the season as Ambridge defeated NA, 7-0, at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon. The boys' team was able to win their second against one loss with a 5-2 victory over the Bridgers. Ambridge had been undefeated coming into the match. Senior Kelly McCullough led the Lady Tigers with a 475 series and high game of 173. Senior Laura St. Onge was second with a 425, including a 163, with sophomore Maria Frantz posting a 407. With the loss, the girls' league record fell to 2-1 on the season. Junior Mike Guernsey led the Tiger boys with a season high 668 series including a 256 in game two, the second highest score of the week in section play. Guersey also rolled a 217. Junior Danny Schulties recorded a 628 series with junior Chris Sinagra adding a 584. Schulties had games of 221 and 214 while Sinagra posted a 219 in game two. With the win, the boys' squad improved to 2-1. The Tiger teams will travel to Quaker Valley on Wednesday with the starting time set for 3:30 pm. MATCH

FALLS; The Lady Tigers shut out Beaver Falls, 7-0, while the boys lost a 7-0 match at the Sims Bowling Lanes in Beaver Falls on Wednesday afternoon. The girls' record improved to 2-0 while the boys fell to 1-1 on the early season. Senior Kelly McCullough led the Lady Tigers with high games of 177 and 155 and a series high of 464. Sophomore Maria Frantz added a 417 and freshman Meredith Michalojko a 412 for the winning Lady Tigers. Junior Danny Schulties led the boys with a 597 series followed by junior Chris Sinagra with a 595 and junior Justin Thomson with a 562. Schulties had the individual game high of 228 with Sinagra posting games of 214 and 202. Thomson recorded a 215 and junior Mike Guernsey adding a 202. The Tiger teams will be in action again on Wednesday afternoon when they host Ambridge at the Perry Park Lanes. Match time is set for 3:30 pm. MATCH

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS BLANK ROCHESTER, 7-0, IN LEAGUE OPENER Both Tiger teams defeated Rochester by 7-0 scores in the league opener at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon. Juniors Chris Sinagra and Mike Guernsey led NA with series totals of 606 and 605 respectively. Guernsey had a high game of 235 while junior Justin Thomson posted a 224 and Sinagra a 222 for the winning Tigers. Junior Danny Schulties contributed a 208 in game two as the Tigers swept the Rams. For the Lady Tigers, sophomore Maria Frantz led the way with a series total of 522, third best in the Northwest Section for the week. Senior Kelly McCullough added a 476 and senior Laura St. Onge a 400. Frantz had the best individual game scores with a 198 and 187 with freshman Meredith Michalojko posting a 179 and McCullough a 173 for the winning Lady Tigers. The NA squads will travel to meet Beaver Falls next Wednesday afternoon. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm at the Sims Bowling Lanes. The Tigers will are competing again in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Bowling League (WPIBL). NA is in a section with North Hills, Rochester, Ambridge, Quaker Valley, and Beaver Falls.
