TIGERS REMAIN UNDEFEATED, OVERWHELM KISKI, 63-17 North Allegheny took a break from section competition on Friday night, traveling east to face Kiski Area at Davis Field in Vandergrift. The Cavaliers provided little resistance as the Tigers won the contest handily, 63-17. Junior quarterback Mack Leftwich threw for 253 yards on just five completions, including a pair of touchdowns. North Allegheny’s leading receiver on the night was Gregg Garrity, hauling in a pair of passes for 153 yards, earning him Wright Automotive Player of the Game accolades. On the first play from scrimmage, Leftwich hit Garrity over the middle for a 76 yard completion. Two plays later, Isaiah Faulk scampered across the goal line from nine yards out. Jason Buchert’s extra point was true, and the Tigers led 7-0 in the early going. After Kiski fumbled the subsequent kickoff, junior Kevin Edwards fell on the ball, positioning the Tigers deep in Cavaliers territory. Leftwich needed only one play to score, finding James Kleinhampl on a 24-yard touchdown pass, quickly pushing the North Allegheny lead to 14-0. Nick Passodelis and Vinnie Congedo also scored first quarter touchdowns, as the Tigers overwhelmed Kiski on offense. One of the few bright spots for the Cavaliers was the play of speedy running back Owen Copney. Early the second quarter, he put Kiski on the board, sprinting to the end zone on a 58-yard touchdown run. After Garrity and Congedo each scored to put the Tigers up 42-7, Kiski kicker Adam Mitcheson nailed an impressive 45 yard field goal. Late in the half, Tommy Keisling saw action under center in relief of Leftwich, running for a 6-yard touchdown, capping the first half scoring for the Tigers. In the second half, a plethora of players saw action for North Allegheny. In addition to Keisling, Brett Neugebauer and Cage Galupi took snaps under center. Several new faces rotated into the backfield as well, with Jason Monper, Peter Mathews, and Fritz Issac receiving carries. One of the North Allegheny highlights late in the game was made by junior Chris Como. After receiving his only handoff of the contest, Como dashed up the middle into the Kiski secondary. He headed down the right sideline, then cut back across the field on a spectacular scoring run of 68 yards. The win extends North Allegheny's record to 6-0. The Tigers will return to section play next week, putting their 3-0 conference record on the line when Pine-Richland visits Newman Stadium for homecoming weekend. Kickoff against the Rams is scheduled for 7:30 pm. Be sure to catch all the action on the North Allegheny Sports Network. GAME SUMMARY
