BOYS COUNTRY CROSS COUNTRY HONORED BY ALLEGHENY COUNTY (12/1/11) The boys cross country team will receive recognition from Allegheny County Council for their WPIAL championship. Council will present the team with an honorary citation for another tremendous season. The cross country team won the WPIAL championship and captured third place in the state this fall. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * STEINER HONORED BY KDKA North Allegheny senior Logan Steiner has been named the winner of the KDKA Extra Effort Award. The Cross Country standout won the WPIAL individual title this fall and was part of the Tigers WPIAL team championship as well. Steiner will be honored on Wednesday, November 23 at 1:30 pm at the NASH Auditorium. Any NASH student who can afford to come down from class is excused to attend. Congratulations to Logan Steiner! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * STEINER, NA BOYS TAKE THIRD (11/5/11) Led by a third place finish by senior Logan Steiner, the North Allegheny Boys Cross Country Team earned bronze at the State Championships in Hershey on Saturday. Steiner’s time of 16:14 was tops amongst the Tigers, with Timothy Appman (16:28) finished 12th and senior Tyler Nicotra (17:00) finishing 29th. North Allegheny’s run toward repeating as state champions fell just short as North Penn and Cardinal O’Hara narrowly edged out the Tigers. In the Girls’ competition, Pennsbury breezed by the competition for the state title. The Lady Tigers finished in 14th place with junior Alex Gambill’s time of 20:57 pacing North Allegheny. MEET SUMMARY - GIRLS TEAM RESULTS
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * 2011 WPIAL CROSS COUNTRY The Tiger boys and Lady Tigers will once again compete in Class AAA of the WPIAL. In the boys' division, there are 52 teams while there are 49 in the girls' competition. Section plaques will be awarded to the winner of each section based on the best section record. Ties for first place will be declared co-champions and both will receive a plaque. Scoring in dual meets will be conventional. The seven top finishers will count with five of them scoring and two to displace. The WPIAL Individual and Team Championships will be held at Coopers Lake (Slippery Rock, PA) on Thursday, October 27, 2011. The PIAA Championships will be conducted on Saturday, November 5, 2011. 2011 CROSS COUNTRY ALIGNMENT - CLASS AAA (52 Boys, 49 Girls)
