LADY TIGERS FINISH REGULAR SEASON WITH 5-0 WIN OVER SEWICKLEY ACADEMY
(10/10/12) After dropping the season opener, the Lady Tigers Tennis team finished the regular season with no other losses as NA wrapped swept Latrobe and Sewickley Academy this week, 5-0. North Allegheny wrapped up their section schedule last week with an unblemished mark of 14-0 and easily topped the Wildcats and Panthers to finish the regular season 16-1. Up next for North Allegheny is the WPIAL Team Tournament which begins tomorrow. For detailed scoring of NA's wins over Latrobe and Sewickley Academy, see below.

ISAACS, ADAMS TAKE THIRD PLACE AT DOUBLES TOURNAMENT
(10/6/12) On the final day of the WPIAL Girls Tennis Doubles Tournament, NA's Kylie Isaacs and Maddie Adams finished with a consolation victory over Mt. Lebanon's Jessie Warshaw and and Annie Baich. The duo earned third place with set wins of 7-5, 6--3. The Lady Tigers return to action on Monday with a non-section match-up against Latrobe. Action gets started at 3:30 pm.

NA DUO REACH SEMIS OF DOUBLES TOURNAMENT, CONSOLATIONS NEXT
(10/5/12) The duo of Kylie Isaacs and Maddie Adams reached the semifinals of the WPIAL Girls Doubles Tennis Tournament on Thursday afternoon and will play for third place in a consolation match today. Isaacs and Adams easily defeated Hempfield’s Madison DeBone and Carly Bryan in the opening round, 10-1. The Tigers pair followed that up with a 10-6 win over Franklin Regional’s Natalia Perry and Lauren Bailey. However, the Peters Township team of Sara Komer and Abby Cummings tripped up Isaacs and Adams in the semifinals, 6-4, 6-2.
Despite the loss, Isaacs and Adams have a chance to take third place in the consolation match today against Mt. Lebanon’s Jessie Warshaw and Annie Baich. For the WPIAL Girls Doubles Tennis Bracket, click here.

GIRLS TENNIS SHUTS OUT NORTH HILLS, 5-0
The Lady Tigers concluded their stretch of section play in style, clinching an unblemished mark within the conference, dispatching the North Hills Indians, 5-0.
For the Tigers, Maddie Adams and Tristyn Maalouf completed their matched unscathed, ending each in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Kylie Issacs was also nearly perfect, dropping a game in the opening set, before cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
In doubles, Sydney Boyd and Ali Juliano enjoyed a 6-1, 6-1 win, as did Danielle Burns and Sara Cousino.
The match clinches an undefeated section schedule for the Tigers, leaving a mark of 14-0 within the conference for the section champions. North Allegheny has two non-section contests remaining, on Monday and Tuesday of next week, before WPIAL team competition commences next Wednesday.
Additionally, After rolling through the Section 2 doubles tournament last week, Kylie Issacs and Maddie Adams will compete at the WPIAL double competition, beginning Thursday afternoon at Norwin. Their opponents will be Madison DeBone and Carly Bryan of Hempfield, third place finishers from Section 1. Issacs has a history of success in doubles. As a freshman in 2010, she teamed with Kayla Becich to win the WPIAL title and place second at states.

LADY TIGERS STRING TOGETHER WIN OVER RAMS, 4-1
(10/2/12) The North Allegheny Girls Tennis Team extended their record to 13-1 overall after taking down Pine-Richland on Tuesday afternoon.. As they have all season, the Lady Tigers controlled singles play throughout the day, as Kylie Isaacs, Maddie Adams and Tristyn Maalouf each won in straight sets.
On the doubles side, Jenn Hoffman and Sydney Boyd were upended by the top doubles team of Pine-Richland. However, Catherine Zhang and Lily Zhang grabbed the final point for North Allegheny, albeit in a highly contested affair.
Up next for the Lady Tigers is a trip to North Hills on Wednesday to take on the Indians. With the match, North Allegheny will finish the section portion of their section, with district individual and team competitions remaining.

NA STAYS PERFECT IN SECTION PLAY WITH
5-0 WIN OVER SENECA VALLEY
(10/1/12) The North Allegheny Girls Tennis Team shot down another opponent on Monday afternoon with a 5-0 victory over Seneca Valley. The Lady Tigers dominated the action in singles play, paced by Kylie Isaacs and Maddie Adams who each earned 6-0, 6-0 wins. Tristyn Maalouf nearly tripled that feat with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jenn Hutchinson.
In doubles, Jenn Hoffman and Sydney Boyd breezed past the duo of Jane Vandrak and Alyssa Hall by a 6-0, 6-0 score. In what turned out to be the most competitive match-up of the day, Catherine Zhang and Lily Zhang dropped set one to Allie Head and Allie Green, but rebounded with 6-3, 6-1 wins to complete the sweep of the Raiders.
North Allegheny improves to and impressive 12-1 on the season and remains perfect in section play at 10-0. The Lady Tigers visit Pine-Richland in a match that was rescheduled from last week.

LADY TIGERS DOWN BUTLER, 4-1
(9/24/12) The Lady Tigers Tennis Team won their 11th in-a-row with a 4-1 win over the Butler Golden Tornado on Monday afternoon. A win at #1 doubles by Butler broke up a dominant string of five straight sweeps by North Allegheny over the last month. Junior Kylie Isaacs picked up a swift 6-0, 6-0 victory at #1 singles while Maddie Adams nearly duplicated that effort with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #2 singles. Catherine Zhang got an opportunity at #3 singles and claimed a quick 6-1, 6-1 win. In doubles action, Lily Zhang and Ali Juliano teamed up for a 6-1, 6-1 win.
North Allegheny now sits at 11-1 overall and 9-0 in Section 2. The Lady Tigers look to continue their winning streak with a visit to Pine-Richland on Wednesday. Action gets underway at 3:30 pm.

ISAACS, ADAMS REACH QUARTERFINALS,
FALL SHORT OF SEMIS
(9/20/12) North Allegheny’s representatives at the WPIAL singles tournament, Kylie Isaacs and Maddie Adams, earned first round victories on Thursday afternoon. However, the pair came up just short of reaching the WPIAL Finals as both suffered defeats in the quarterfinals. Isaacs rolled to a 10-1 win over Charlotte Vertes of Penn-Trafford in the opening round, but fell to Canon-McMillan’s Yvon Martinez in the quarters, 10-4. Adams earned a 10-8 victory over Laurel Shymansky of Fox Chapel but then dropped 10-8 final to Franklin Regional’s Natalia Perry.
The entire NA Girls Tennis team will be in action on Monday with a visit to Butler. Action gets underway at 3:30 pm.

NA COASTS PASTS MARS, 5-0
(9/19/12) The North Allegheny Girls Tennis Team extended their winning streak to 10 in-a-row and picked up their fifth sweep of the season with a 5-0 win over the Mars Planets. Kylie Isaacs, Maddie Adams, and Tristyn Maalouf earned straight set victories in singles play.
In doubles competition, Sydney Boyd and Jenn Hoffmann picked up a tight victory in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, and 6-4. Catherine and Lily Zhang had a much easier time with their opponents in a 6-2, 6-0 win.
The Lady Tigers improve to 10-1 overall and 8-0 in section action. Juniors Kylie Isaacs and Maddie Adams will represent NA on Thursday at the First Round of the WPIAL Finals. Action gets underway at Norwin High School at 12:30 pm. Isaacs will face Charlotte Vertes of Penn-Trafford in her first round match-up, and Adams will take on Laurel Shymansky of Fox Chapel.

LADY TIGERS WIN AGAIN, SWEEP HAMPTON
(9/17/12) The Lady Tigers Tennis Team claimed their fourth straight sweep and ninth win in-a-row as North Allegheny downed the Hampton Talbots, 5-0. Since a season opening loss to Shady Side Academy in non-section play, the Lady Tigers have rolled through their schedule, including again on Monday afternoon with sweep of Hampton.
Maddie Adams got the nod at #1 singles and came through with a victory in three sets. Freshman Tristyn Maalouf breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 win while Catherine Zhang grinded out a 7-5, 6-1 win to round out singles play.
In doubles, it wasn't easy for Sydney Boyd and Jenn Hoffman but the pair grinded out an exciting 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-4) victory. Ali Juliano and Lily Zhang didn't have to sweat it out nearly as much as they cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win.
Following the win, North Allegheny now boasts an overall record of 9-1 and 7-0 mark in section play. The Lady Tigers look to run their winning streak to 10 with a home match against Mars. Action begins at 3:30 on Wednesday.

ISAACS REACHES FINALS AT WPIAL SECTION SINGLES, ADAMS TAKES 3rd
(9/15/12) North Allegheny junior Kylie Isaacs reached the championships of the WPIAL Section 2 singles competition and fell in three sets to Pine-Richland's Marlys Bridgham. Bridgham held off Isaacs by scores of 4-6, 7-6 (6-1), and 6-0.
In the section consolations, North Allegheny's Maddy Adams was victorious over Lucy Gloniger of Hampton in straight sets. Adams topped Gloniger by scores of 6-0 and 7-5. Both Isaacs and Adams qualify for the WPIAL singles competition to be held this Thursday and Friday.

ANOTHER SWEEP FOR LADY TIGERS TENNIS
(9/12/12) North Allegheny dominated Knoch on Wednesday, 5-0, dropping just one game throughout the afternoon. Kylie Issacs, Tristyn Maalouf, and Lily Zhang scored points in the singles competitions, while the teamwork of Catherine Zhang and Jenn Hoffmann along with Ali Juliano and Danielle Burns won doubles matches.
The victory extends the Lady Tigers' win streak to eight matches, and their section record to 6-0. Up next for North Allegheny is section singles, set for Thursday and Friday. Check the North Allegheny Sports Network for results as soon as they are available.

LADY TIGERS ACE INDIANS, 5-0
(9/10/12) The North Allegheny Girls Tennis team continued to roll through section competition, sweeping North Hills, 5-0, on Monday afternoon at the NASH courts. Maddie Adams and Tristyn Maalouf convincingly won their matches from their #1 and #2 singles positions. Sarah Cousino also defeated her opponent in straight sets, in the closest match of the day. Both Lady Tigers doubles teams easily dispatched their competition as well, to win the day for North Allegheny.
Since their season opening loss to Shady Side Academy, North Allegheny has rattled off seven straight wins, including 33 of a possible 34 matches. They will take to the court again Wednesday when they welcome Knoch to the North Allegheny Senior High School. Matches are scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm. LADY TIGERS STORM PAST RAIDERS, 5-0
(9/6/12) The North Allegheny Girls Tennis Team continued their winning ways on Thursday afternoon with a 5-0 sweep over the Seneca Valley Raiders on enemy soil. The Lady Tigers earned the road win with straight set wins by Kylie Isaacs, Maddie Adams and Tristyn Maalouf in singles play.
In doubles competition, the superb duo of Sydney Boyd and Jenn Hoffman claimed a 6-4, 6-1 win. Lily and Catherine Zhang combined for a 6-1, 6-1 victory to finish off the Raiders.
North Allegheny has rolled their way to a 6-1 overall record and 6-0 mark in the section. North Allegheny continues to cruise through section competition, boasting a 5-0 mark. The Lady Tigers return home for a Monday afternoon match-up with rival North Hills. Action starts at 3:30 pm at the NASH courts.

GIRLS TENNIS NETS SECTION WIN OVER RAMS, 4-1
(9/4/12) The Lady Tigers Tennis Team continued their success within the section, defeating Pine-Richland, 4-1. Tristyn Maalouf had the most impressive win of the day, handily defeating her opposition, 6-0, 6-0. Maddie Adams was also victorious in routing her opponent, 6-0, 6-3.
North Allegheny also picked up both doubles matches, with the reliable team of Sydney Boyd and Jenn Hofmann pulling out a 6-1, 6-4 win. Lily Zhang paired with Catherine Zhang to cap off the sweep in doubles.
North Allegheny continues to cruise through section competition, boasting a 5-0 mark. After their season opening loss to Shady Side Academy, the Lady Tigers have rattled off five straight wins, good for a 5-1 overall mark. The Girls Tennis Team will resume action Thursday in a key section match at Seneca Valley. The contest is set for 3:30 pm.

LADY TIGERS SWEEP THEIR WAY PAST BUTLER, 5-0
(8/31/12) The Lady Tigers Tennis Team topped the Butler Golden Tornado on Friday afternoon for a 5-0 victory. The win was the fourth straight for NA over a section opponent. Kylie Isaacs, Tristyn Maalouf and Catherine Zhang had little trouble in their singles matches to set the tone for the Lady Tigers on the day.
In doubles, Sydney Boyd and Jenn Hoffman claimed a 6-1, 6-1 win over Rebekah Bright and Molly Moses. The combo of Lily Zhang and Ali Juliano breezed past Brook Petrie and Olivia Girdono for a 6-1, 6-0 win.
With the win, North Allegheny jumps to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in section play. The Lady Tigers will have the next few days off before hosting the Pine-Richland Rams on Tuesday at 3:30 pm.

LADY TIGERS TOPPLE PLANETS, 5-0
(8/29/12) The North Allegheny Girls' Tennis Team won their third straight section match on Wednesday afternoon with a sweep of the Mars Planets, 5-0. The Lady Tigers had little trouble with Mars in the singles competition, where junior Kylie Isaacs and freshman Tristyn Maalouf both blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Junior Maddie Adams earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory in her match at #2 singles.
The Mars duo of Michalski and Veck gave NA's Sydney Boyd and Jenn Hofmann a challenge by winning the first set in their match-up. Ultimately, Boyd and Hofmann would prevail by taking the next two sets by 6-4, 6-2 scores. Lily and Catherine Zhang were paired up for the first time this season and cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win.
North Allegheny improves to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in section play. The Lady Tigers will face another section foe on Friday with a home match against Butler at 3:30 pm.

NA WINS RAIN SHORTENED MATCH WITH HAMPTON, 4-0
(8/27/12) The Lady Tigers waded through the rain for a second straight win, defeating the Hampton Talbots 4-0 on Monday afternoon. The #3 singles match between Catherine Zhang and Sun Young Bang was cut short due to rain, but North Allegheny had already locked up the victory by then to improve to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in section play.
At singles #1, Kylie Isaacs once again delivered with a victory by setting down Lucy Gloninger by 6-2, 6-1 scores. Tristyn Maalouf was equally as impressive at singles #2 with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Rachel Harrison.
In doubles action, Sydney Boyd and Jenn Hoffmann made relatively quick work of their opponents with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Lily Zhang and Ali Juliano also picked up a doubles win by retiring Natalie Habaugh and Christine McGrath 6-1, 6-3.
North Allegheny hopes to add onto to their winning streak with visit to the tennis courts at Mars on Wednesday afternoon. Action gets underway at 3:30 pm.

WIN OVER KNOCH
(8/24/12) The North Allegheny Girls’ Tennis team rebounded from a season opening loss to Shady Side Academy on Thursday with a 5-0 shutout over Knoch on Friday afternoon. In singles play, the Tigers swept the Knights with 6-0, 6-0 victories by Kylie Isaacs, Tristyn Maalouf, and Catherine Zhang. In doubles play, the combo of Sydney Boyd/Jenn Hoffman and Lily Zhang/Ali Juliano were also perfect 6-0, 6-0 winners in a whitewash of the Knights.
North Allegheny improves to 1-1 on the season a 1-0 in section play. The Lady Tigers return to action on Monday at home against Hampton.

NORTH ALLEGHENY DROPS SEASON OPENER TO
SHADY SIDE, 3-2
The Lady Tigers fell in their season opener to Shady Side Academy on Thursday, despite dominating the top matchups in singles competition. Kylie Issacs easily won her match, 6-0, 6-0, while Tristyn Maalouf only lost one game at the second singles position. Although each of the doubles matches needed a deciding third set, neither tipped in favor of the Lady Tigers.
Thursday's matchup featured two WPIAL playoff squads a year ago. North Allegheny went 17-2 in 2011, falling in the WPIAL quarterfinals, while Shady Side reached the WPIAL and PIAA finals.
North Allegheny will look to bounce back on Friday afternoon against Knoch. The scheduled start time at the Knoch High School courts is scheduled for 3:30 pm. Be sure to check the North Allegheny Sports Network for results.
