Minutes of December 4, 2006 Cheerleading Booster Meeting

The minutes from the October 23rd meeting were approved by Vivian Wallace and seconded by Tracy Mandarino.

New Business

We need a volunteer to head up mini camp for the up coming year.  We will have a committee of people helping, but first we need a chairperson.

The Banquet for this year will be towards the end of February.  In January we will have a separate meeting for anyone who would like to help with the banquet.

Rose talked about purchasing NA banners that the girls would use and reuse throughout the year at both football and basketball.  This would eliminate or lessen the number of banners the girls would have to paint for each of the games.  Sandy motioned that we purchase these and Joanne seconded the motion.

Community Service Project

We need to limit the community service project to JV and Varsity cheerleaders and parents because of the number of helpers that can be in the cafeteria area.  We need to arrive at the Bethlehem Haven Center by 10am to set up to begin serving by 11am.  We will be serving cold food items such as donuts, bagels and cream cheese, fresh fruit, juice and coffee.  The girls will also be making a Christmas craft with the women.

For anyone interested, a holiday gift can be purchased for and donated to a woman at the shelter.  A list will be provided with suggestions from the shelter.  If you choose to participate see your freshman, JV, or Varsity Rep.

UBO – Nothing to Report

Clothing – Cindy had a sample of some gloves with NA and paw prints on them for next year’s cold season.  A motion was made to order some of these gloves for next year and it was second by Rose.

Reps

Varsity –Sue /Jane working on craft ideas for the community service project.  If anyone could donate their Michael’s coupon it would help keep the cost of the craft down.  A snack list for the Varsity away games was passed around.

JV – Tracy/Patty –The new schedule has been sent out.  Kami was wondering if the parents would be ok with the JV team staying over night the night before the Penn State competition since it is so far away.  The new pictures have been sent to the Basketball Program.  The JV picture will also be in the NAI yearbook.

Freshmen – Joanne – Schedules were handed out for December and January.  The girls are cheering only 6 basketball games.

Treasurer – Nothing new for Freshman. JV has a charge for Slippery Rock.  Varsity has charge for Slippery Rock and $200 for Nationals.  Slippery Rock competition fee needs to be paid by December 7th

Fundraising - Cookie Dough is on your accounts.  Anyone having problems with Betsy Ann order on line call Kim and she can help you.

Thank you to Linda Constantino and Marilyn Wagner for heading up the cookie dough.

Next meeting is January 8th 7:00 pm NAI.
