Minutes of September 25, 2006 Cheerleading Booster Meeting

The minutes from the August 21st meeting were approved by Diane Thumma and seconded by Noreen Petrasek.

Old Business

Thank you to Linda Kelly for organizing the varsity car wash at J.Clarks in September.  Also, thank you to Mr. Petrasek and Mr. Flannely for spending the entire day working hard at the car wash.

Thank you to Jean Brown for organizing the tail gate for Varsity, JV, and Freshmen.  It was very well attended.

Mr. Bozzuto had a meeting of all the booster presidents this past month.  N.A. pays $26,000/yr for the N.A. web-site.  He really wants to stress to all the different sports to use the web-site as much as possible.  Ann Moss mentioned that if anyone has action shots of the girls at games they can forward them to her for the web-site.

The competition schedule has been updated and can be found on the web-site under schedule.

New Business

Homecoming – Diane Thumma announced that all three squads will be cheering at the homecoming game. The teams will meet at the Baierl Center and lead the parade.  Diane asked if anyone present had a Tiger Pride cheerleader to help with the parade.

Senior Night – Soccer senior night is October 12th and football senior night is October 20th.  The varsity girls will decorate the boy’s lockers for this special night.  The gift for the boys is usually a small gift card and some candy.  Our girls will decorate the lockers for our cheerleading seniors on these special nights.  Our girls typically receive a small gift also.  The parents will receive an invitation to the Football senior night.

UBO – Amy Flannely announced that she is chairing the UBO scholarship committee.   The boosters are scheduled to rent the Tiger costume for next years Mini Camp.  Several fundraising opportunities were discussed.  Eat and Park (dine and donate) offers 10% back to the organization.  Barnes and Noble Book Fair – they provide everything needed and the profit is determined by a sliding scale.  During the next UBO meeting Guidance will be coming to talk about GPA.  Mr. Bozzuto has a captain’s breakfast once a month to discuss leadership issues.

Clothing – All clothing should be done.  The small size of the fleece is on back order.  Varsity is still waiting on two white uniforms.  There are a few extra crop tops individuals are trying to sell – see Cindy if you are interested.

Reps

Varsity – Sue/Jane the main focus right now is Senior Night.

JV – Tracy/Patty – The team had their picture taken in their new uniforms for the BB program.

Freshmen – Joanne was given a photo disc of the team if anyone wanted pictures or they can be used for the poster at the end of the year.  Thursday before Homecoming the 9th grade girls will be traveling to Seneca Valley to cheer the game.

Treasurer – Escrows have been mailed out.  Freshmen have a credit because their camp was cancelled.  Varsity have been billed for a deposit for Nationals and a stunt fee.  Varsity car wash brought in $800.  Remember competition fees need to be paid for each girl for the girl to be allowed to go to the competition.

Fundraising – No candy is allowed to be sold in school.  Some other ideas presented to the boosters for fundraising:

Party Lite Candles – profit goes to individual escrow

Crystal T-Shirt – We get 15% off the top of sales

Betsy Ann – On-line for holiday time – profit goes to individual account

            Custom Hershey Bars

Cookie Dough – need a chair

Outback – sell tickets for a dinner

Anthea Kachulis volunteered to organize the Eat and Park fundraiser

Next Meeting Monday October 23, 7:00 Nai
