NA Dumps North Hills, 73-60

The North Allegheny Tigers defeated the North Hills Indians, 73-60, on Tuesday night and maintained third place in Section 3-AAAA at the halfway point of the section schedule.  The Tigers got off to a slow start trailing the Indians, 14-11, at the end of the first quarter.  The Tigers hit a three pointer at the buzzer of the first half to take an eight point lead going into the locker room.

The second half belonged to Elijah Zeise.  The senior scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds in the second half and was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game.

The Tigers increased their lead to 12 points in the third quarter but Ryan Burek drained three of his six treys in the period to cut the NA lead to four points.  However, the Tigers slowly slipped away, forcing 19 turnovers on the night to open up easy baskets.  The Tigers were paced by Zeise with 18 points. Also hitting double figures were Joe Mancini with 15, Mike Carter with 11, and Mike Fischer with 10.

North Allegheny improves to 5-2 in section play and 11-2 overall.  The Tigers will open up second half action on the road Friday night against Pine Richland.
