No. 1 Seed For Lady Tigers, NA Boys Seeded 9th
The WPIAL basketball playoff pairings were announced on Tuesday night and the North Allegheny girls’ basketball team received the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the Class 6A bracket. The Lady Tigers finished the regular season with a dominant record of 21-1 overall and claimed a co-section title in Section 1. Ranked No. 1 in the state, the Tigers automatically advance to the WPIAL quarterfinals on February 24 where they await the winner of the Hempfield vs. Canon-McMillan first-round matchup. The North Allegheny boys’ basketball team concluded the regular season with a 14-8 overall record and a fourth-place finish in ultra-tough Section 1.That earned the Tigers the ninth-seed in the Class 6A bracket as they’ll face the eighth-seeded Canon-McMillan Big Macs on Wednesday, February 22 at North Hills High School at 8:00 p.m. For the entire Class 6A boys’ basketball bracket, click here.
