Tigers Take Care of Indians on the Road

The North Allegheny ice hockey team traveled to Printscape Arena at Southpointe for a AAA matchup against Peters Township Tuesday night. The Tigers took care of business with a 6-1 win.

NA opened the scoring with two goals in the initial frame. Junior Cedric Otey scored unassisted at even strength eight minutes into the contest. Senior Eddie Scherer scored later in the period, assisted by freshman Cole Maier and senior Adam Bradley.

In the middle stanza, Peters Township cut the lead in half in less than two minutes.  Jack Kubistek scored, assisted by Carter Meneely. NA responded with Otey’s second marker of the game, this time on the power play, assisted by senior Joey Mitchell and junior Brady Hornyak.

The Tigers added insurance goals in the third period. Junior Anthony Lucas scored short-handed, assisted by Kyle Imm, less than two minutes into the final frame. Scherer scored his second of the night, which was also short-handed. Imm found the back of the net himself late in the period, assisted by Bradley.

Chris Costa earned the win in net, stopping 28 shots.

North Allegheny is now 4-0-0 on the young season and has a quick turnaround later this week. The Tigers are set to host the Franklin Regional Panthers from the Baierl Ice Complex on Thursday night at 9:00 p.m.
