NA dominant in opener against Chartiers Valley

North Allegheny hosted Chartiers Valley at UPMC Court to open the boys wrestling season. The Tigers dominated jumping out to a 36-0 lead and coasted to a 58-11 victory to start the season.
Joseph Synan started the night winning by forfeit before Bryce Prosser, Dalton Stragand, Evan Schomburg, Myles Hoover and Gus Stedeford all won by pin to give the Tigers a 36-0 lead. Chartiers Valley picked up a win by decision to make the score 36-3 before Griffen Reid and Gabriel Hernandez each pinned their opponents to expand the NA lead to 48-3. The Colts would win the next two matches to cut into North Allegheny’s lead at 48-11 but the Tigers finished strong getting a major decision from Charles Miller and a pin from Braden McConneha to make the final score 58-11.
Reid was named the Wright Automotive Wrestler of the match with his pin in 1:53 over Maksym Ribalko.
North Allegheny starts the season 1-0 overall. Chartiers Valley falls to 0-1. The Tigers will be back in action this weekend when they participate in the Chartiers-Houston Invitational that will take place on Friday and Saturday.
