Tigers pick up big road win at Fox Chapel in overtime
North Allegheny traveled to Fox Chapel High School on Tuesday night to take on the Foxes in a Section 1-6A matchup. The Tigers made a statement, picking up an impressive overtime win, 49-44, over Fox Chapel.
The Foxes jumped out to a 9-5 lead after a quarter of play. NA was able to cut the deficit to 15-13 at the break. In the third quarter, North Allegheny used three-pointers from Blake Craft and Ben Coffman to inch closer, trailing 26-25 after three quarters. The Tigers had their highest scoring period of the game in the fourth quarter and tied the game up at 39-39. In the overtime period, Craft hit another three, and Coffman and Will Robertson hit free throws to put the game away, and NA escaped with a 49-44 victory.
Coffman led the Tigers with 18 points. Craft added 15 points.
North Allegheny improves to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in section play. Fox Chapel falls to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the section. The Tigers return to action on Sunday when they host Allderdice at 3 p.m. as part of the Holiday Bash. This game will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
