Boys Basketball drops matchup with Pine-Richland
North Allegheny traveled to Pine-Richland High School to take on the Rams in a Section 1-6A contest on Friday night. It was a tough night offensively for the Tigers as they fell 61-30.
It took NA a little bit to get going offensively as they only had one field goal in the first quarter and trailed 12-4 after a quarter of play. North Allegheny got a three-pointer from Jahlil Archer in the second period but the Rams expanded their lead to 24-11 at the half.
The third quarter is where separation really occurred as Pine-Richland outscored the Tigers, 23-10 and led 47-21 going into the final frame. With 2:23 left in the fourth quarter, the Rams got the lead to 59-28, triggering the running clock and NA ultimately fell 61-30.
Archer finished with 13 points.
North Allegheny falls to 7-10 overall and 3-7 in the section. Pine-Richland improves to 9-9 overall and 5-5 in section play. The Tigers return to action on Tuesday when they host Fox Chapel at 8 p.m. This is apart of a girl/boy doubleheader and will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
