North Allegheny defeated by Fox Chapel, 44-33
North Allegheny hosted the Fox Chapel Foxes at UPMC Court on Wednesday night in a Section 1-6A contest. Neither offense was very explosive but the Foxes did enough offensively to defeat the Tigers by a score of 44-33.
NA got a three-pointer from Will Robertson in the opening frame but trailed 10-5 after a quarter of play. Cole O’Neil cashed in from behind the arc in the second quarter and North Allegheny made up some ground, but still trailed 16-12 at halftime.
The third quarter was the best eight minutes offensively for both teams as the Tigers got seven points from Ben Coffman in the frame and 16 points total, but still trailed 34-28 going into the fourth quarter. In the final frame, NA was held to five points and fell, 44-33.
Jahlil Archer led the Tigers offensively with eight points.
North Allegheny falls to 7-11 overall and 3-8 in the section. Fox Chapel improves to 10-8 overall and 5-6 in section play. The Tigers return to action on Friday when they travel to Woodland Hills to take on the Wolverines at 7:30 p.m.
