Tigers fall to North Hills
North Allegheny traveled to North Hills High School on Tuesday night to take on the Indians in a Section 1-6A matchup. The Tigers could not keep up with the Indians big second half and ultimately fell by a score of 71-55.
Jahlil Archer had five of NA’s seven points in the opening frame and the Tigers trailed 17-7. North Allegheny got a three-pointer from Ben Coffman in the second quarter and outscored North Hills, 15-10, to cut into the deficit to 27-22 at halftime.
Both teams got going in the third quarter as there were 47 total points scored. The Tigers got the deficit down to four multiple times but the Indians started to pull away at the end of the third quarter and NA trailed 53-43 going into the fourth quarter. North Hills put NA away for good in the fourth quarter outscoring the Tigers, 18-12 and North Allegheny fell 71-55.
Archer finished with 14 points. For his efforts, Archer was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game. Justin Stalter added 11.
North Allegheny falls to 8-13 overall and 3-10 in the section. North Hills improves to 13-7 overall and 6-6 in section play. The Tigers wrap up the season on Thursday when they host New Castle at UPMC Court at 8 p.m. This will be Senior Night and the game will be broadcast live on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
