Tiger Season Comes To A Close On Senior Night

The North Allegheny boys’ basketball team ended the season on Thursday with a Senior Night section matchup with New Castle. The Red Hurricanes took a 65-36 win over the Tigers to complete the regular-season sweep between the schools.

Both teams played a close first quarter, with North Allegheny securing three-point shots from senior Peter Bratich and junior Ben Coffman. NA trailed 12-10 after one period.

New Castle took a 17-9 scoring advantage in the second quarter, courtesy of Damien Harrison, who ended the game leading all scorers with 24 points. Senior Will Robertson and Coffman each had two baskets in the stanza.

NA was outscored 17-11 after the halftime break, with senior Blake Craft and Bratich knocking down triples in the third period. New Castle added 19 points in the fourth quarter to cruise to the win.

The North Allegheny senior class, including Justin Stalter, Bobby Dopirak, Craft, Robertson and Bratich were named the Wright Automotive Players of the Game.

North Allegheny ends the season with an 8-14 overall record and a 3-11 mark in section play.
