The North Allegheny ice hockey team hosted Central Catholic in a AAA matchup on Monday night at the Baierl Ice Complex. NA won 4-3 over Central.

The Vikings opened the scoring just about four minutes into the contest on a goal scored by  David Ketterer. The Tigers answered back roughly halfway through the period on a David Patterson goal assisted by Christian Mark.

NA had the lone goal of the second period courtesy of an unassisted marker by sophomore Cole Maier.

The Tigers opened the third period, extending the lead to 3-1 on a power-play goal from Brady Dixon, assisted by Bryce McCormick and Maier. The Vikings scored back-to-back goals in the middle of the frame. Carter Beall notched a power-play marker, while Mason Pyszniak found the equalizer with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation.

It didn’t take NA long to jump back in front for good when junior Chase Hiben scored with less than eight minutes to play. Maier and senior Cedric Otey had the assists.

Junior Chris Costa earned the win in net, stopping 31 shots.

North Allegheny is back in action next Monday, November 9th, for a rivalry matchup with Pine-Richland at the Baierl Ice Complex. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m.
