Max Stedeford Surpasses 100 Career Wins At Subsection 3B Tournament

Twelve wrestlers competed for North Allegheny on Thursday night at the Subsection 3B-AAA individual tournament and all twelve advanced to Saturday’s Section 3-AAA tournament.

The subsection tournament was a round robin format with the top two finishers in each weight class advancing to Saturday’s sectional. Eight Tigers earned first-place showings, highlighted by senior Max Stedeford at 145 pounds, who reached the 100-win plateau in his career. Stedeford reached the century mark with two wins by fall and a hard-fought 1-0 decision over Pine-Richland’s Kelin Laffey to capture first place.

Other first place-finishers on Thursday night included Casey Walker (106), Dylan Coy (120), Nick Gorman (126), Nathan Monteparte (132), Brad Stipetich (138), Max Stededord (145), Aiden Buggey (189) and Brady Leczo (215). Runner-up efforts were turned in by Sam Horton (113), A.J. Rohan (152), Collin McCorkle (160) and Travis Stipetich (172). The Section 3-AAA individual tournament will be held on Saturday at North Allegheny at 10:00 a.m.
