NA Drops Road Game At Moon

The North Allegheny boys’ basketball team fell on the road to the Class 5A Moon on Tuesday night, 56-49, in a non-section contest.

Moon jumped out to a 17-5 lead in the first quarter, thanks in part to a pair of 3-pointers by junior Elijah Guillory, on the way to a wire-to-wire victory. Guillory netted a team-high 16 points on the night for the host team. Moon also received a 15-point effort from junior Aiden Reeseman, while sophomore Michael Santicola and senior Michael Depner tallied 11 points each.

Doing his best to rally North Allegheny back in the second half was junior forward Joey Dopirak with a game-high 18 points, 16 of which came over the final 16 minutes. Junior guard Anthony Sciote buried four 3-pointers in a 13-point effort. Junior Ty Iwanonkiw touched double figures with 10 points, including a pair of treys.

North Allegheny falls to 0-4 on the season, while Moon improves to 2-2 on the year. The Tigers will try to crack the win column on Saturday night with a visit to Erie City at 5:30 p.m.
