North Allegheny rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the third period to force overtime but Joey Wateska’s power play goal in the extra session propelled Peters Township to a 4-3 win over the Tigers at the Baierl Ice Complex on Thursday night.

Trailing 1-0 after one period, the Tigers knotted the score at 1-1 when Alex Dorsch tickled the twine at the 8:59 mark of the second period. The Dorsch goal was assisted by Gianni Lochiatto and Logan Cerqua.

The Indians surged ahead in the third period on back-to-back markers by Zach Palmieri and Camden Martin for a 3-1 lead with 7:05 left in regulation. Just 10 seconds later, NA answered back immediately on a goal by Ryan Jackman, assisted by Evan Kerber, trimming the deficit to 3-2. With only 2:16 left in the contest, Kerber tied the score at 3-3, assisted by Marc Joyson and Ravi Desai.

In overtime, a too many men on the ice penalty proved costly as Peters Township took advantage of the 4-on-3 power play and cashed in at the 2:26 mark of overtime thanks to Wateska’s heroics to steal away a 4-3 win for the Indians.
