NA Sinks Susquehanna, 73-47
The North Allegheny boys’ basketball team earned its first win over the season on Saturday night with a dominant 73-47 win over Susquehanna at the York Suburban Tip-Off Tournament.
The Tigers pounced on their opponent for a 39-15 lead by halftime and cruised to the win. Leading the charge was senior forward Joey Dopirak with a game-high 36 points. Dopirak converted on 17 field goals on the night. Senior Ty Iwanonkiw touched double figures as well with 15 points. Susquehanna was held in check for most of the night, but Travis Turner and Montana Snyder managed to reach double figures with 11 points each with most of his damage coming with the game out of reach in the second half.
With the win, North Allegheny improves to 1-2 overall and will host Moon on Tuesday night at UMPC Court. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
