NA Skates To 1-1 Tie With Bethel Park
The North Allegheny ice hockey team came away from Monday night’s tussle with perennial power Bethel Park in a 1-1 draw from the BladeRunners in Warrendale. The Tigers struck first on a goal by Tyler Wilson just 2:34 into the game to give NA a quick 1-0 lead. The Black Hawks tied the score at 1-1 at the 12:15 mark of the period on an Antonio Esposito goal. That was the last time the lamp was lit in this contest as the defenses slammed the door for the rest of the night.
North Allegheny’s Joe Hubert got the start in net and stopped 21 of 22 shots. Bethel Park’s William Lowe III was also strong, making 33 saves on 34 shots.
Despite the tie, North Allegheny remains in first place atop the Class AAA standings with a 7-1-1 record. Bethel Park sits in third place with a 6-2-1 record. The Tigers return to action on December 1 with a home meeting with the Butler Golden Tornado at 8:20 pm.
