Tigers Blank Big Macs, 4-0

The North Allegheny ice hockey team won its fourth in a row on Tuesday night with a 4-0 shutout of Canon-McMillan at the Printscape Arena in Southpointe. In a one-side contest pitting the first place team in Class AAA against the last place team, the visiting Tigers outshot the Big Macs, 53-17. Senior goalie Andrew Long notched the shutout, his first of the season, by stopping all 17 pucks sent his way.

With the Big Macs offense held in check, North Allegheny got all the scoring it needed in the first period on goals by Evan Kerber and Ryan Jackman for a 2-0 lead. The Tigers added on with single goals in the second and third periods thanks to Luke Walkauskas and Jackman, respectively.

North Allegheny improves to 6-1 overall and holds a four-point lead in the standings over six teams in a tie for second place. Canon-McMillan remains winless with an 0-6 mark. The Tigers will host Seneca Valley on Monday, Nov. 27 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
