Tigers Falls To Blue Devils, 5-2

In the season opener back on Oct. 5, North Allegheny earned a 5-2 win over Mt. Lebanon. On Thursday night at the Mt. Lebanon Ice Center, the Blue Devils exacted revenge with a 5-2 triumph against the Tigers.

Tied 1-1 after one period, the Blue Devils surged ahead with a three-goal outburst in the second period and held on in the third period for the win. Senior Ryan Jackman scored for NA in the first period, assisted by junior Gianni Lochiatto. Sophomore Luke Walkauskas netted an unassisted marker in the third.

Junior Camden Junker got the start in net and made 19 saves. Quinn Lynam stopped 27 pucks for Mt. Lebanon and earned the win.

The loss drops North Allegheny to 8-2-1 on the season with 17 points, just one point behind first-place Seneca Valley. Mt. Lebanon improves to 6-4-1 on the campaign and sits in seventh place in the Class AAA standings. North Allegheny returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 4 with a big home game against Peters Township. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
