Tigers Shutout Blue Devils, 2-0
Junior goalie Joseph Hubert made 25 saves and the Tigers blanked the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils on Monday night, 2-0, at the Mt. Lebanon Recreational Center. The shutout was Hubert’s first of the season and the second for the Tigers on the campaign.
Thanks to the NA defense and Hubert’s play in net, North Allegheny didn’t need much scoring to rack up a third straight win. Paul Gonchar scored in the first period and Joseph Zappia tallied a second period marker for all the offense needed.
With the win, North Allegheny improves to 5-1 on the season and sits atop the Class AAA standings with 10 points, two ahead of undefeated Peters Township. The Tigers will tangle with Central Catholic next Monday night before a prime meeting with Peters on November 18.
