Tigers Trump Mountain Lions, 64-50

The North Allegheny Tigers used a big third quarter to claw past the Altoona Mountain Lions on Saturday afternoon, 64-50, in a road non-section contest. The game was tied 28-28 at the half before NA outscored Altoona, 21-9, in the third period. The NA defense limited Altoona to just 23-percent shooting in the second half. The Tigers were steady offensively and shot 50-percent for the night.

Senior Isaac Barnes paced North Allegheny with a double-double, totaling 21 points and 12 rebounds. Along with Barnes, two other Tigers posted double figures offensively. Junior Curtis Aiken tallied 18 points and senior Luke Carter had 11 points and shot 3 of 6 from beyond the arc. For Altoona, Jayvion Barr had a team-high 19 points and Shawn Gibson added 14 points.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 11-5 on the season. The Tigers will host the Butler Golden Tornado in an important section game on Tuesday night at 8:00. The game will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
