Tigers Vanquish Fighting Highlanders, 4-1
The North Allegheny ice hockey team returned to the win column on Thursday night with 4-1 triumph over Baldwin at the Ice Castle Arena. The victory snapped a three-game losing skid for the Tigers and vaulted NA into a tie with Peters Township for third place in the Class AAA standings.
The game got off to an inauspicious start when the Fighting Highlanders struck first on a goal by Tanner Plinta just 2:43 into the contest. Gianni Lochiatto tallied the go-ahead marker at the 7:42 mark of the first period to grab a 2-1 lead.
From that point on, the Tigers led the rest of the way. In the second period, Evan Perrotte scored his fourth goal of the campaign, assisted by Luke Walkauskas, for a 3-1 advantage. Ryan Jackman capped the scoring in the third period with his seventh goal of the year at the 4:04 mark to close out the three-goal victory.
With the win, North Allegheny improves to 9-3-2 overall, while Baldwin falls to 1-12-2. The Tigers will take to home ice on Monday night against Bethel Park at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
