
Tigers Whip Centurions At Gateway Classic
Five Tigers scored in double-digits as North Allegheny ran away from the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions on Friday night, 76-53, at the Gateway Classic. Senior Mike Carter led the Tigers with 18 points, connecting on 3 of 5 from beyond the perimeter. Junior Cole Constantino netted 14, followed by Elijah Zeise’s 12 points. David Haus and Will Sandherr chipped in with 10 apiece.
North Allegheny led 36-30 at halftime before pulling away from the Centurions in the third period. The Tigers outscored Greensburg Central Catholic, 26-10, in the third to grab a firm hold of the contest. Doing his best to keep GCC in the game, Christian Hyland scored a game-high 19 points. Romano Sebastiani added 10 points for the Centurions.
With the victory, North Allegheny improves to 8-0 overall. Greensburg Central Catholic suffers its first loss of the season, falling to 7-1. The Tigers will face host Gateway tonight at 7:15 pm in the tournament title game.
