MATCH SUMMARIES

TIGER TEAMS TAKE TWO FROM QUAKERS

Both Tiger teams were victorious over Quaker Valley by the score of 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Perry Park Lanes.  For the girls, the win kept them undefeated and in first place in the North Section.  The boys improved to 2-2 on the year.

Junior Harrison Turner led the way for the Tigers with a 601 series including a 213.  Senior Alex Kocent followed with a 580 with junior Dave Lubarsky following with a 588.  Kocent rolled a team high game of 221 with Lubarsky also over 200 at 204.

For the Lady Tigers, senior Lauren Schulties set the pace with a 575 series that included games of 231 and 205.  The series was the ninth highest in the league last week.  Junior Kristen McCullough was second with a 529 followed by senior Lauren Rzeznik with a 505.  Junior Mary Viloria had a team high game of 220.

The Tiger teams will host rival North Hills on Wednesday afternoon at the Perry Park Lanes.  Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm.

TIGER TEAMS SPLIT WITH AMBRIDGE

The Lady Tigers remained undefeated after three matches in the WPIBL with a 7-0 victory at Ambridge on Wednesday afternoon.  The boys' squad lost to Ambridge, 7-0, as their record dropped to 0-3 in league play.

Senior Lauren Schulties led the Lady Tigers with a season game high 202 and a season high series of 578.  Schulties rolled the seventh highest series total for the week in the WPIBL.  Sophomore Kelly McCullough followed with a 535 series, including a 196, with junior Kristen McCullough adding a 517.  For the boys' team, freshman Chris Sinagra posted a team season high 237 to pace the Tigers.  Sinagra led with a 610 series followed by senior Steve Besonson with a 534 and senior Alex Kocent with a 533.

The Tiger teams will be back in action again on Wednesday, January 4, when they host Quaker Valley.  Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm at the Perry Park Lanes.

LADY TIGER RIP ROCHESTER, 7-0; BOYS' TEAM DROPS 5-2 DECISION

The Lady Tigers won their second straight match on Wednesday afternoon at the Beaver Valley Bowl with a 7-0 shutout of Rochester.  The Tiger boys' team dropped a 5-2 decision to the Rams.  The girls now stand at 2-0 while the boys record fell to 0-2.

For the Lady Tigers, Junior Mary Viloria rolled a 200 single game high and a team high series of 530 to pace NA.  Senior Lauren Schulties was second with a series of 537 with sophomore Kelly McCullough third at 462.

For the boys, senior Alex Kocent posted a season high 659 series to lead NA.  Kocent's score was the sixth highest for the week in the entire WPIBL!  Senior Steve Besonson was second for NA with a 537 followed by junior Dave Lubarsky who rolled a series total of 511.  Kocent recorded individual game scores of 239 and 225.  Also over 200 for NA were Lubarsky with a 205 and freshman Chris Sinagra who posted a 201.

GIRLS DOWN NORTH HILLS, 5-2; BOYS DROP 7-0 DECISION

The Lady Tigers opened their 2005-06 season with a 5-2 victory over North Hills at the Pines Plaza Lanes on Wednesday afternoon.  The boys' team was defeated by the Indians, 7-0, in their opener.

For the Lady Tigers, junior Kristen McCullough led the way with a series total of 511 including a game high of 196.  Sophomore Kelly McCullough posted a 486 series.  Senior Lauren Rzeznik recorded a 210 for a game high for NA.  For the boys' team, senior Steve Besonson had a 584 series, including a single game high of 210, to pace the Tigers while senior Josh Schreibeis was second with a 548 series.  Senior Alex Kocent posted a 207 for NA.

The Tiger teams will be back in action again next Wednesday when they travel to the Beaver Valley Bowl to meet Rochester in a 3:30 pm match.
