Photo Courtesy of Joe Bullick LADY TIGERS FINISH EIGHTH IN WPIBL CHAMPIONSHIPS Senior Lauren Schulties rolled a 210 for the third highest score of the day , but the Lady Tigers finished in eight place in the WPIBL Championships at the Crafton/Ingram Lanes on Thursday afternoon. Chartiers Valley took the title with Penn Trafford second and Penn Hills third. Four members of the Lady Tigers have qualified for the State Individual Championships. Seniors Lauren Schulties and Lauren Rzeznik, junior Kristen McCullough, and sophomore Kelly McCullough will all bowl in the state meet. The NA team has also qualified for the State Championships.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * AMBRIDGE KNOCKS TIGERS FROM PLAYOFFS, 5-2 The Tigers lost a 5-2 decision to Ambridge in the first round of the WPIBL playoffs at Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon. NA finished in a second-place tie with Ambridge during the regular season. The Tigers final record was 7-4 on the year. Greensburg Salem won the WPIBL boys' championship on Wednesday at North Versailles Bowl. Hempfield was second and Penn Hills third. From the North Section, Ambridge finished eighth and North Hills tenth. Senior Alex Kocent has qualified for the State Championships on the boys' side. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * LADY TIGERS COMPLETE UNDEFEATED SEASON The Lady Tigers defeated Quaker Valley, 7-0, at the Fair Oaks Lanes on Wednesday afternoon to finish the regular season with a 10-0 record. The boys' team also defeated the Quakers, 7-0, to complete their regular season with a 7-3 record and a tie for second place. Freshman Chris Sinagra led the Tigers with a 666 series, fifth highest in the WPIBL last week. Senior Alex Kocent rolled a 644, good for the sixth highest series in the league. Freshman Dan Schulties was third with a series total of 587. Sinagra had two of the top games in the league, posting scores of 238 and 236. Kocent had three games over 200 with a 224, 217, and 203. Schulties recorded a 209. For the Lady Tigers, senior Lauren Rzeznik paced NA with a 539 series. Sophomore Kelly McCullough followed with a 521 with junior Kristen McCullough posting a 501. Kelly McCullough had the individual high game with a 208. Both NA teams have qualified for the playoffs. The boys' team will host Ambridge in a first round match on Wednesday afternoon, February 22. Match time is scheduled for 3:15 pm at the Perry Park Lanes. The Lady Tigers will bowl next Wednesday.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGERS TAKE TWO FROM AMBRIDGE Both the boys and girls' teams were victorious against Ambridge at Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon. The final score in both matches was 5-2. The boys' improved their overall record to 6-3, good for a second place tie in the section standings. The girl's remained unbeaten at 9-0 and clinched the Northwest Section title. Senior Alex Kocent led the Tigers with a series of 661, seventh highest in the WPIBL last week. Sophomore Grant Martens was second with a 588 while freshman Chris Sinatra posted a 572. Kocent rolled three 200+ games (229, 212, 220), Martens had a match high 244, Sinagra recorded a 207 and 202, junior Dave Lubarsky posted a 204, and junior Harrison Turner had a 200 game. For the Lady Tigers, junior Kristen McCullough led the way with a 511 series with senior Lauren Rzeznik close behind with a 501. In individual games, Rzeznik rolled a match high 193 with Kristen McCullough posting a 190. The Tiger teams will close out their regular season matches on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Fair Oaks Lanes to meet Quaker Valley. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm.

SEWICKLEY ACADEMY FALLS TWICE The Tiger teams met Sewickley Academy on Monday and Wednesday and posted 7-0 victories on both days. On Monday, a makeup match was rolled at Perry Park Lanes and on Wednesday the regular league match was completed at Paradise Island Bowl. With the wins, the Lady Tigers improved the unbeaten record to 8-0 and remained two games ahead of second place North Hills. The boys' team improved to 5-3, good for second pace on points in the Northwest Section. Freshman Chris Sinagra rolled a 598 series to lead the Tigers with senior Josh Schreibeis and junior Harrison Turner close behind at 596 and 594 respectively. Turner had games of 222 and 213, Schreibeis recorded a 233, and Sinagra a 229. Earlier in the week, sophomore Grant Martens had a season high 265. For the Lady Tigers, senior Lauren Rzeznik led the way with 574 series, the eighth highest in the WPIBL for the week. Junior Kristen McCullough rolled a 535 and senior Lauren Schulties a 525 for the winning Lady Tigers. In individual games, Rzeznik posted a 203. The Tiger teams will be back in action again on Wednesday when they host Ambridge at Perry Park Lanes. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. MATCH

* * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS TOP ROCHESTER TWICE Both the boys and girls' teams were victorious over Rochester by 7-0 scores at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday. The Lady Tigers improved their section record to 6-0 and as they maintained their hold on first place in the Northwest Section. The boys' squad improved their record to 3-3 on the season. Senior Alex Kocent and junior Harrison Turner led the way for the Tigers with both rolling series and game highs. Kocent had a season high 670 series that included games of 253 and 246. The 253 was the third highest in the WPIBL for the week. Turner added a season high series of 661 with games of 235 and 233. For the Lady Tigers, junior Kristen McCullough led the way with a season high series of 570 and an individual season game high of 202. The 570 series ranked sixth highest for the week in the WPIBL. Sophomore Kelly McCullough rolled a season high game of 204 and a series of 477. The Tiger teams will be in action again on Wednesday when they meet Sewickley Academy. TIGERS EDGE NORTH HILLS, The Tiger teams split with North Hills on Wednesday afternoon at Perry Park Lanes. The Lady Tigers took a big step toward winning the Northwest Section title with a 4-3 victory over second place North Hills. NA now holds a two-game lead over the Indians. In the boys' match, North Hills downed the Tigers, 5-2, to drop NA to 2-3 in the section standings. Junior Kristen McCullough led the Lady Tigers with a 485 series followed by senior Lauren Rzeznik with a 470 and senior Lauren Schulties who rolled a 462. Sophomore Kelly McCullough followed with a 460. For the boys' team, senior Alex Kocent led the way with a 594, including games of 225 and 213. Senior Steve Besonson was second with a 558 with junior Dave Lubarsky recording a 556, including a 220. Grant Martens posted a 220 in his first appearance with the Tigers. The Tiger teams will host Rochester on Wednesday afternoon at Perry Park Lanes. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. MATCH

PENNSYLVANIA INTERSCHOLASTIC The Tiger teams will once again compete in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Bowling League (WPIBL). There are now 34 teams in six sections in competition for the league championship in both the girls and boys divisions. WPIBL ALIGNMENT - 34 TEAMS
