The North Allegheny Baseball team continued the suspended game from earlier this season with Fox Chapel on Wednesday afternoon. The game was originally a home matchup, but was moved to Fox Chapel due to weather-related facility issues. The Tigers battled back from a four-run deficit, but lost 4-3.

The Foxes struck first in the opening inning when Milan Fluhme hit a double, scoring a run. Fox Chapel added two more runs in the top of the third inning off a Tyler Golembiewski fielder’s choice and an Elias George single that each scored a run. The Foxes’ fourth run came via a sacrifice fly RBI from Fluhme in the top of the fifth inning.

The Tigers added three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Junior Jake Fritz hit a sacrifice fly that scored fellow junior Dominic Williamson to make it a 4-1 game. During the next at-bat, sophomore Nate Fritz singled home junior Gavin Ust to cut the lead in half. Junior Mason Dratfinsky then ripped a line drive triple to center field, scoring Fritz on the next play. NA trailed by just a run with two innings left, but could not find any more scoring. Williamson doubled to give the Tigers a chance to tie the game in the sixth, but was stranded after a Ust lineout to end the frame.

Tyler Golembiewski earned the win for Fox Chapel in relief, going five innings with six hits, three earned runs, a walk and a strikeout. Tiger junior Roman Kohler pitched the complete-game loss, but did strike out seven Fox Chapel batters while only allowing two walks.

North Allegheny has two more home games remaining before the playoffs. The Tigers battle the Shaler Titans on Senior Day Thursday at 7:00 p.m. NA then hosts Peters Township Friday night at 6:30.
