North Allegheny senior Neil Woods drove in three runs and pitched five effective innings to help the Tigers to an 8-3 win at Pine-Richland on Monday afternoon in Section 1-AAAA action. Woods was 2 for 4 with a double at the plate, and earned the win (4-0) on the mound as the Tigers vaulted into a second place tie with Butler in the section standings. The Tigers will visit Butler tonight.

Along with Woods big day, Joe Fitzgerald contributed with a pair of hits and two RBI, while Jon Dignazio was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and Alex Mesaros was 2 for 2 with two walks and three runs scored. The Tigers were unkind to reliever Hunter Treece who allowed three runs in three innings.

For the Tigers, following Woods on the bump was Jake Fischbaugh and Garrett Hagen who each tossed hitless innings in relief.
