NA Dealt Loss At Cumberland Valley

Posted on:

The North Allegheny baseball team traveled to Cumberland Valley on Saturday and dropped a 13-3 decision in a non-section contest.

Despite falling behind, 4-0, in the first inning, the Tigers fought back in the middle innings to trim the deficit. Senior Owen Schall’s RBI single in the top of the third inning to cut the score to 4-1. The Eagles answered back with a solo homer in the bottom of the third to regain a four-run advantage, but the Tigers scratched closer in the fourth. An RBI single by Andrew Dixon trimmed the deficit to 5-2, and when Connor Fadgen raced home on a wild pitch, NA trailed by just two runs at 5-3.

North Allegheny’s comeback bid was short-circuited, however, as Cumberland Valley plated three runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth to invoke the 10-run rule and cap a 13-3 win for the Eagles.

North Allegheny drops to 9-2 overall following the loss. The Tigers return to section play on Monday night with a home date against Seneca Valley at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
