NA Drops Game One To Pine-Richland

The North Allegheny baseball team dropped game one of the three-game series with Pine-Richland on Friday afternoon, 10-1. The host Rams scored two runs in the first, two runs in the second and six runs in the fourth inning to build what proved to be an insurmountable lead.

The Tigers lone run came in the top of the fifth on an RBI groundout by senior Andrew Hart to score junior Owen Schall from third base, bringing the score to its eventual final, 10-1. Schall and Harron Lee both went 2-for-3 for the Tigers.

Senior Owen Henne and senior Jacob McGuire both drove in three runs for the Rams. Pine-Richland starter Keegan Deihl earned the victory with 6.1 innings of work. Deihl allowed only one unearned run with nine strikeouts and two walks. NA starter J.D. Costanzo suffered the loss, giving up four runs on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

North Allegheny and Pine-Richland are tied for first place with 7-3 records in Section 1-6A. The two teams resume the series with game two on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
