NA drops game two against Seneca Valley
North Allegheny traveled to Seneca Valley for game two of their three-game series against the Raiders. After defeating Seneca Valley by a score of 7-3 on Monday, the Raiders got the series to even with a 4-2 defeat of the Tigers on Tuesday afternoon.
Seneca Valley got all four of their runs in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 4-0.
The Tigers responded in the top of the fourth when JJ Mancuso walked, stole second and scored on a Mason Dratfinsky single to cut the deficit to 4-1.
NA got another run in the top of the fifth when Carter Boehm and Jake Fritz singled while Nate Fritz walked to load the bases. Mancuso grounded into a fielder’s choice and the score was 4-2.
North Allegheny couldn’t get anything else going offensively in the game and fell, 4-2.
Dratfinsky and Boehm each had two hits.
Lucas Manczka was the tough luck loser going the distance allowing two hits and four runs (none earned). He struck out four.
North Allegheny falls to 8-5 overall and 5-3 in the section. Seneca Valley improves to 10-6 overall and 5-3 in section play. The Tigers and Raiders look to break the tie in the standings and in the series on Thursday at North Allegheny at 7 p.m. This game will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
