
Talbots Top Tigers In Non-Section Tune-Up
Looking to sharpen their skills for the upcoming WPIAL playoffs, the North Allegheny Tigers dropped a 6-3 decision to a playoff-bound Hampton Talbots team in a non-section contest. North Allegheny scored first on an RBI double by Alex Mesaros that plated Luke Trueman in the top of the first inning for a 1-0 lead. However, Hampton used the middle innings to build an insurmountable 6-2 advantage by the end of the fifth.
Tyler Bischke led the Talbots with a 2 for 4 performance and two RBI’s. Hampton starting pitcher Kevin Morgan tossed six innings and struck out five for the win. Phil Conti worked the seventh for the save. North Allegheny starter Andrew Partridge took the loss.
The Tigers received a good hitting day from Trueman who went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored in the leadoff spot. Mesaros and Jack Lehew collected a pair of hits and one RBI apiece.
North Allegheny drops to 12-6 overall following the loss. Hampton improves to 13-5 on the season. The Tigers will host North Hills on Thursday at 7:00 p.m in another non-section tune-up.
