Tigers drop pitcher’s duel to Butler
North Allegheny traveled to Pullman Park in Butler, PA to take on the Golden Tornado in their section opener on Wednesday afternoon. Going up against Penn State commit Nolan Stefaniak, one of the top pitchers in the state of Pennsylvania, the Tigers mustered one hit and fell by a score of 1-0.
Gavin Ust doubled for the lone hit for NA.
Liam Cooper took the loss going 3 2/3 innings allowing two hits and an unearned run. He struck out five. William Schmidt went an inning and a third of relief and Jude Swartz threw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
North Allegheny falls to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in section play. Butler improves to 6-2 and 3-1 in the section. The Tigers and Golden Tornado are back at it today at North Allegheny at 4 p.m. This game will be broadcast live on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
