One day after posting a ten-run victory on the road against Allderdice, North Allegheny upped the ante at home and posted a 13-1 win in five innings over the Dragons, as the Tigers celebrated their seniors in Wexford.

It was a pair of six run innings in which the Tigers sent eleven batters to the plate that paced North Allegheny on the night.

North Allegheny took advantage of five walks from Allderdice starter Gabe Engel and used a pair of sacrifice flies to go up 6-0 after the first inning.

Owen Schall plated the first run with a sac fly. Andrew Dixon had an RBI single, and Augie Maslo drove in a pair of runs with a double. Cole Hammer hit a sacrifice fly and Maslo scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first inning.

Schall led off the second inning with a double and scored on Charles Mau’s sacrifice fly to make the lead 7-0.

After Allderdice scored its lone run in the third inning, the Tigers batted around again the bottom of the fourth to break the game open.

Cole Suba went all five innings to earn the complete-game victory.

Miles Pealer led off with a double and scored on JD Costanzo’s base hit. After a fielder’s choice, Dixon stroked a two-run double, followed by a run scoring single from Nico Varlotta. After a pair of walks, Greg Schmidt brought home a run with a fielder’s choice, and Pealer stroked an RBI single in his second at bat of the inning to put the Tigers in front 13-1.

It was up to senior Cole Suba to finish off the game in the top of the fifth, which he did to earn the victory.

Suba picked up the five-inning complete game, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out three. All ten seniors contributed in some fashion to help North Allegheny improve to (8-0, 5-0).

It was senior catcher Andrew Dixon who snagged the Wright Automotive Player of the Game honors. Dixon went 2-for-3 at the plate, driving in three runs and scoring a run in the romp for the Tigers.

Game three of the 6A Section series continues against Allderdice (1-7, 0-6) on Thursday, when North Allegheny once again visits the Dragons.
