Photo Courtesy of Coach Neely KOLECK ADVANCES TO STATE FINAL Both the Tiger boys and girls were well represented at the WPIBL Individual Regional Championships at the North Versailles Lanes on Friday. Senior Kevin Koleck rolled a 1243 series to finish 10th overall and advance to the Regionals. In the regionals, Koleck was eliminated after one game but qualified for the state tournament next Friday. Senior Maria Frantz, sophomore Ryanne Tyler and sophomore Chelsea Weber represented NA in the girls' tournament. Koleck, senior Sebastian Gentile and sophomore Brett Harbison represented the NA in the boys division. A total of 168 bolwers competed in the regional championships. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * LADY TIGERS TAKE 6TH PLACE AT The Lady Tigers captured sixth place at the WPIBL Team Championships at the Crafton-Ingram Lanes on Thursday afternoon. Hempfield placed first with Penn-Trafford and Penn Hills in the second and third places. Sophomore Ryanne Tyler led NA with a series total of 372 with senior Maria Frantz adding a 327 to the NA score. Individually, Tyler had the two top games with a 181 and 191 while Frantz was next with a 172. Junior Haley Wisniewski rolled a 166 and freshman Rachael Brown a 162 in game one. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER BOYS FINISH IN 11TH PLACE The Tigers finished in 11th place in the WPIBL Team Championships at Hillview Lanes on Wednesday afternoon. East Allegheny won the title followed by Hempfield and Steel Valley. Sophomore Andrew Sinagra led NA with a series total of 382 with senior Kevin Koleck adding a 367. Sinagra also posted a game high 212 with Koleck rolling a 211, and senior Sebastian Gentile a 205 for the Tigers. WPIBL BOYS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM SCORES

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER BOYS WIN SECTION TITLE; Both Tiger teams were victorious over both North Hills and Shaler as the regular season came to an end. On Tuesday in a makeup match, the Tigers traveled to Pines Plaza Lanes and won both matches against rival North Hills. The boys knocked off the Indians, 5-2, while the girls captured a 6-1 victory over NH. On Wednesday, the Tiger teams hosted Shaler at the Perry Park Lanes and also won both matches. The boys secured the section championship with a 6-1 victory over the Titans while the Lady Tigers took second place with a 7-0 victory. The boys completed the section schedule undefeated with a 10-0 record while the girls final mark was 8-2. Against Shaler, senior Sebastian Gentile rolled a 535 series to pace NA with senior Kevin Koleck adding a 462. Sophomore Brett Harbison was third for NA with a 411 total. Gentile had games of 277 and 258 to ensure his place at the top of the section with a final section average of 199.35. Both the series and individual game totals were the highest posted in the section this season. Koleck also had a good day with games of 232 and 230. Also over the 200 mark was Harbison with a 224 and sophomore Andrew Sinagra with a 225. For the Lady Tigers against Shaler, sophomore Chelsea Weber led NA with a series total of 356 including a match high game of 213. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS SWEEP KARNS CITY, 7-0 Both Tiger teams defeated Karns City by 7-0 scores at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the boys remained unbeaten as they improved their section leading record to 8-0. The Lady Tigers record went to 6-2 to retain second place in the North Division standings. Senior Sebastian Gentile led the boys with a series total of 421 including games of 215 and 206. Sophomore Brett Harbison was next with a 413 total including a high game of 214 while senior Kevin Koleck added a 380 series including a 201. For the Lady Tigers, sophomore Ryanne Tyler paced NA with a 351 series with sophomore Chelsea Weber close behind with a 348 including a high game of 204. Freshman Rachael Brown was next with a 321 with senior Maria Frantz adding a 320 for the winning Lady Tigers. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS BLANK MARS, 7-0 Both Tiger teams came away with 7-0 victories over Mars at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday. With the win, the boys remained unbeaten and in first place with a 7-0 record. The Lady Tigers also defeated Mars, 5-2, on Tuesday and improved their record to 5-2, good for second place in the North Division standings. Senior Sebastian Gentile led the boys with a series total of 452 with games of 232 and 220. Senior Kevin Koleck was next with a 408 and a match high 236. Sophomore Dave Genualdi added a 210 and sophomore Andrew Sinagra a 204 for the winning Tigers. Senior Maria Frantz set the pace for the Lady Tigers with a series total of 357 including a game high of 200. Sophomore Ryanne Tyler was next with a 341 with freshman Rachael Brown rolling a 304 and sophomore Chelsea Weber a 301 for the winning Lady Tigers. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS SPLIT WITH BUTLER The Tiger teams traveled to the Family Bowl Away Lanes in Butler on Wednesday afternoon and came home with a win and a loss against the Tornado. The boys captured a 5-2 victory over Butler while the first-place Tornado girls swept NA in a 7-0 win. Senior Kevin Koleck led NA with a 425 series including a single game high of 226. Sophomore Brett Harbison was next with a 382 series while sophomore Andrew Sinagra chipped in with a 376 series. For the Lady Tigers, junior Maria Frantz posted a 340 series with sophomore Ryanne Tyler second with a 329 and sophomore Chelsea Weber next with a 320 series. Tyler rolled a game high of 182. With the win, the Tiger boys continued to hold on to first place in the North Section with a 6-0 record. The Lady Tigers currently are in fourth place with a 3-2 mark. The Lady Tigers will travel to Mars on Tuesday for a makeup match with the Planets. The starting time at the Majestic Lanes is set for 3:30 pm. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS SWEEP SHALER The Tigers teams took care of Shaler at the Pines Plaza Lanes in WPIBL action in Week Five. The boys downed the Titans, 5-2, while the Lady Tigers won by a 7-0 score. Leading the boys was senior Kevin Koleck with a 427 series and games of 213 and 214. Sophomore Cory Mardorf followed with a 388 series including a 203 with senior Sebastian Gentile adding a 359 series and a 200 individual game. Sophomore Ryanne Tyler led the Lady Tigers with a 321 series followed closely by junior Maria Frantz with a 318 while sophomore Chelsea Weber added a 304. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * NORTH HILLS FALLS TO TIGER TEAMS The Tiger teams swept rival North Hills at the Perry Park Lanes last Wednesday. The Lady Tigers blanked the Indians by a 7-0 score to improve their record to 2-1 in section. The boys remained unbeaten with a 6-1 victory over their neighborhood rivals. Senior Maria Frantz led NA with a 367 series including a match high 212. Freshman Rachael Brown added a 327 with sophomore Ryanne Tyler rolling a 323 with a high game of 186. For the boys, junior Cory Mardorf led the way with a series total of 441 with games of 237 and 204. Senior Sebastian Gentile followed with a 420 series with sophomore Andrew Sinagra recording a 412 including a 216 in game 1. Senior Kevin Koleck posted a 217 and sophomore Brett Harbison a 206 for the winning Tigers. The Tigers traveled down Route 19 to Pines Plaza Lanes on Wednesday where they defeated Shaler twice. The girls took a 7-0 victory while the boys won by a 5-2 score. Next up for the Tiger teams will be a trip to the Family Bowl Away Lanes in Butler on Wednesday afternoon. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS WIN TWO AT KARNS CITY Both Tiger teams were victorious on Wednesday afternoon at the Bruin Bowling Lanes in Karns City. The Lady Tigers evened their record at 1-1 with a 7-0 victory while the boys took a 6-1 victory over the Gremlins. With the win, the boys remained unbeaten with a 3-0 record. Sophomore Ryanne Tyler led the Lady Tigers with a 387 series including a high game of 211. Tyler currently leads all bowlers in the North Section with an average of 192.25. Sophomore Chelsea Weber chipped in with a 378 series including a 193 while junior Maria Frantz was third with a series total of 331. For the boys, junior Corey Mardorf posted a 349 series followed closely by senior Sebastian Gentile with a 337 and sophomore Brett Harbison with a 331. Gentile rolled the high game for the boys with a 187 while Mardorf recorded a 180. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER BOYS MASTER MARS, 5-2 The Tiger boys' team won their second straight match without a loss with a 5-2 victory over Mars at the Mystic Lanes in Mars on Wednesday afternoon. The girls' match was postponed and will be rescheduled later. Sophomore Andrew Sinagra led the Tigers with a 344 series with junior Cory Mardorf close behind with a 341. Senior Sebastian Gentile added a 314 for the winning Tigers. Mardorf had a high single game of 199 with Sinagra chipping in with a 178. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS SPLIT WITH BUTLER The Tiger boys were victorious against Butler, 7-0, in the section opener while the Lady Tigers dropped a 6-1 decision to the Tornado. Leading the boys was sophomore Brett Harbison with a 506 series including section highs of 255 and 251. Junior Cory Mardorf added a 426 series while senior Sebastian Gentile chipped in with a series of 406. Mardoff rolled games of 226 and 200 while Gentile recorded a 206 and 200 in his two games. Sophomore Ryanne Tyler led the Lady Tigers with a 382 series including games of 190 and 192. Junior Maria Frantz was second with a 317 while freshman Rachael Brown posted a 304. The WPIBL has gone to the collegiate scoring system this year that includes two regular games and two Baker games. In a Baker game, a bowler only bowls two frames.
