MEDAL IN In the second TSTCA meet of the indoor season at Robert Morris University, seven Tigers earned medals. Junior Halie Carter had the highest finish with a second place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:27.38. Freshman Cassie Foulk placed third in the 55 meter hurdles with a 9.38 while junior Kayla Starta also took third in the pole vault with a height of 8'6" Senior Kara Stiger raced to a fourth place finish in the 55 meter dash (7.58) while senior Julia Concelman finished in seventh place in the pole vault. For the boys, junior Sean Madigan placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.06 while senior Eric Balaban took third in the mile run with a time of 4:43.27. Two Tiger sprinters finished in the top eight in the 200 meters. Senior Evan Shepard was sixth with a time of 24.80 with freshman Kyle Shivetts taking eighth in 24.99. The next TSTCA meet will take place on Saturday at the Gareat Sports Complex in Geneva, Ohio. The starting time is scheduled for 11:00 am. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * HUMPHREY TAKES FIRST IN TRIPLE JUMP Senior David Humphrey captured first place at the Tri State Coaches Track Association initial meet of the season at GaREAT Sports Complex in Geneva, Ohio. With his jump of 45'0", Humphrey qualified for the state indoor championships. He was the only NA qualifier from the meet. A number of NA athletes placed in their events. Senior Kara Stiger tied for second in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.24. Junior Taylor Yarshen was second in both the pole vault and long jump while freshman Cassie Foulk was fourth in the 60 meter hurdles. In addition to his first place in the triple jump, Humphrey was fourth in the long jump. Senior Cody Brown was sixth in the shot put with a throw of 42'11". Junior Sean Madigan placed 7th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2.05.3. Tiger athletes have competed in pole vault events at Butler and a shot put competition at Duquesne University. The last competition was the TSTCA meet on Sunday at Robert Morris University. Results have not been forwarded from that meet. The next TSTCA meet is scheduled for Saturday, February 6, at the GaREAT Sports Complex.
