Two NA Hurlers Combine To No-Hit Hampton

A night after Jake Fischbaugh tossed a one-hitter against Seneca Valley, North Allegheny pitchers Danny Caropresi and Jon Dignazio combined for a no-hitter on Saturday night in a 5-0 victory over the Hampton Talbots. The duo of Caropresi and Dignazio combined for 10 strikeouts in the win. Dignazio earned the victory with four scoreless innings of work and Caropresi picked up the save with three shutout frames.

North Allegheny scored more than an enough runs for the Tigers hurlers. NA scored two unearned runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. In the third inning, senior Keegan Phillips scored on a passed ball to bring the NA lead to 3-0. In the fifth inning, Bobby Brown drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and Jack Lehew’s RBI single gave the Tigers a 5-0 advantage.

North Allegheny sits at 7-2 overall with the win over Hampton. The Tigers visit the North Hills Indians on Monday at 7:00 pm in a game that will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
