Minutes

1.    Welcome
Monica Gambino welcomed the members and thanked them for their attendance.
2.    Approval of Minutes
The minutes were reviewed by the members and there were no additions or corrections.  Ann Burnett moved that the minutes be approved; the motion was seconded by Andrea Conley.  All members voted in favor.
3.    Old Business
Homecoming 2010 – the cheerleaders made a stunning presentation in this year’s jungle-themed homecoming parade. All squads participated – Varsity, JV, Freshmen, and Middle School.  The girls marched and cheered for the large crowd of fans present.

Sixteen girls from Tiger Pride held the banners for the NA cheerleaders.  They did a phenomenal job and marched with smiles on their faces as they went around the track.  We extend a big thank you to the Tiger Pride parents and to the young cheerleaders who participated:  Bella Berger, Nina Pope, Brittney Groom, Aliana Whipkey, Megan Roth, Tabby, Berger, Taylor Helfer, Gabbie Klinker, Morgon Bartolomucci, Emma McWilliams, Alina Hays, Katelyn Steigerwald, Samantha McGuire, Jade Berger, Natoria Smith, Julia Randolph, Caitlin Orwell.
The puppets were also a crowd favorite in the parade.  The NA football player puppet and Seneca Valley player puppet exchanged “hits” and got the fans pumped up for the big win that was about to take place for NA.  Thank you to IMS 8th graders, Nick Hubal and Raymo Donch for wearing the puppets.  The large tiger puppet was adored by the young fans present.  The tiger led the cheerleaders’ parade.  All puppets were made by senior varsity cheerleader, Anne Judkis.

Spirit T-Shirt sales – Tina Hamm reported that the Boosters sold almost 2,000 t-shirts (90 – 100 left).  The Boosters discussed the possibility of creating a different design for a playoff t-shirt. Some other ideas to make money for the cheerleaders included selling a terrible towel or glow sticks.  Note - we didn’t sell as many t-shirts as we had in prior years.

4.    New business
a.    Bylaws
The members voted to approve a change in the bylaws (Article VI, section 6.2):  The fundraising chair will be responsible for organizing the fundraising table at the varsity games.

b.    Soccer Senior Night
All varsity cheerleaders stayed after school October 14th to decorate senior soccer player lockers.  Varsity black squad decorated football lockers.  Varsity cheerleaders also decorated their big sisters’ lockers.  October 21st is football senior night.  All varsity cheerleaders will decorate senior’s lockers and big sisters’ lockers.
c.    Coat Drive
The annual coat drive will take place on October 29 at North Hills – we need a couple of JV cheerleaders to help collect and direct what to do with the coats.
d.    Holiday Service Project
Mary Ellen Austin suggested we send supplies to a group of Marines in Afghanistan.  Mary Ellen has a 23-year old cousin serving there and they need supplies.  About 45 men need socks, food, hot chocolate, dog bones, etc.  She will get the details if we are interested.
5.    Treasury Report
The report was made available to all members.  We sold half as many t-shirts as last year and we raised about the same on mini-camp.
6.    Clothing Report – Beth Vuono
Nothing new to report.
7.    Fund Raising – Beth Williams
Looking forward to doing basketball clinic again – checking on dates.
8.    UBO Report – Sandy Binz
UBO wants a list of cheerleaders, including their grade in school and shirt sizes.  They also want to know if we have any interest in purchasing Tiger pins for $4.00 which we could sell for $6.00 – these were left over from last year.  Debbie Knat is our contact person – food for thought.
9.    Squad Reports
Varsity – Patti Amos.  Nothing new to report.
JV – Joanne Verez.  Last game Saturday 10/16.  Still looking into new competition uniforms.
Freshman – Lynn Braun Warth & Vicki Settino.  Finishing up soccer and football games – nothing else to report.
10.    Next Meeting – November 15, 2010 at 7:00 in the Ponce Room.
11.    Meeting adjourned at 8:00PM
