          NA Cheerleading Booster Meeting

 October 15, 2007

 Opening Remarks

Minutes were approved from the September 25, 2007 Booster meeting.  The minutes are posted on the website.

New Business

Vinyl signs for the football field – we have someone who will donate five signs, but there is a discount if we order eight so we would need to pick up the cost for three signs.  The girls will make drafts of designs for the signs and send them to the company.

Ordered freshmen pompoms.  The old ones were given to Ingomar Middle School.

Thank you to all who have volunteered for the car washes and T-shirt sales.

The motion flexes were ordered.  The Athletic Department is going to pay half of the cost.  They are due to be in before the 11/24 competition in Johnstown.

The January 20th competition at Penn State has been moved to January 13th.  Please note, this is also move-in day for the Penn State students.

Nationals – Plane fare is currently $286.80 per person.  A $50 deposit will need to be paid by November 5th  to ensure this rate.  This deposit will not be refundable.   Full payment is due December 17th.  The plane will depart at 7:50 p.m. on Thursday 2/7 and return at 1:10 p.m. on Monday, 2/11, arriving in Pittsburgh at 3:25 p.m.  If the girls do not qualify, money that has been put into their accounts for nationals will be refunded immediately.

Message from the Athletic Director’s office:  The Athletic Director is asking all booster presidents to address the alcohol issue.  If any cheerleaders have any issues with regard to alcohol, the team will not be allowed to attend Nationals.

Community Service

The “Unite on Game Nite” community service project will take place Friday and Saturday, October 26th and 27th.  Sign-up sheets are available tonight and will be made available at practices next week.  The Freshmen and JV cheerleaders will be making signs for the boxes that the coats will be collected in, and, in conjunction with the North Hill cheerleaders, will collect the coats on Friday night, as well as bag, sort, and load the coats into the van.  The Varsity cheerleaders will be responsible for setting up the coat shop at the Millvale Community Center and serving as personal shoppers, as well as clean up on Saturday.  A sheet describing the project was distributed.

Homecoming

The new signs were beautiful.  Thank you to Mary Collins.  Pictures are on the website.

Fundraising

Tambellini’s – Anthea Kachulis – Flyer was distributed.  Individual pastas and soups, nut rolls and canollis.  35 – 40 percent profit.  Sell through 11/2.  Girls can pick up the orders on 11/14 at NAI.  Sellers:  Please have buyers make checks out to you and then submit one check from you to NA Cheer Boosters.

Cookie Dough – Marilyn Wagner – Will distribute flyers this week.  Will be delivered the week after Thanksgiving.

Jerry’s Car Wash – Jane Marroni – Still have coupons.  The price is $9.50 per coupon.  $4.50 goes into your account with $5 going to Jerry’s.

Sarris/Betsy Ann – Linda Leo – Ordered 30 boxes of pretzels.  Flyers will go out this week at cheer practices.  Will be delivered the end of November.

T-shirts – Patti Amos – Sales are winding down.  Will sell at North Hills game if we have any left.  Will check to see if we can sell at basketball games.  We will not be selling the Ibistek hoodies as we are not allowed to sell at any WPIAL playoff games.

Treasurer’s Report

Bills have been distributed.  The proceeds from the pretzel fundraiser were not included on this bill.  The proceeds from the car wash have been credited to accounts.  We paid for our part of the website to the AD’s office.  Profit on T-shirts - $6,000.  Signs for JV and Varsity squads being made with a portion of the proceeds.

Clothing

Any questions, call Cindy Roberts. Tie dyed shirts should be in next week.  This is the last item of clothing.
