MT. LEBANON WINS GIRLS' TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

The Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils won the 2007 team championship played at Cedarbrook Golf Course.  Peters Township was second and Fox Chapel third.

LADY TIGERS FALL TO BLACKHAWK, 196-219

The Lady Tigers hosted the Blackhawk Cougars on Wednesday at Highland CC and dropped a 196-219 decision.  Senior Julie Angeloni shot a 47 to pace NA.  On Monday, the Lady Tigers will host Butler at Highland CC with the starting time set for 3:30 pm.

MARS TOPS NA, 182-229

The Lady Tigers traveled to Mars and were defeated by the Planets, 182-229.  Freshman Tara Broderick shot a 53 to pace NA with sophomore Claire Johnson recording a 54.

CENTER DOWNS LADY TIGERS

The Center Trojans defeated the Lady Tigers, 190-266 at Center.  Sophomore Claire Johnson paced NA with a score of 56.

2007 WPIAL GIRLS' GOLF

The Lady Tigers will compete again in the WPIAL along with 28 other teams.  The top two teams and ties for second place in each section will enter the team championships on October 18, 2007.  If two teams tie for second place but one of the teams has lost both head to head contests, that team will not enter the tournament round.  Three way ties will be broken in the following manner:

1.  Section records of the tied teams will be compiled.
2.  The team that has the best numerical record among the tied teams will be the qualifier.
3.  If the tie cannot clearly be broken, all tied teams will enter the tournament.

 In 2007/2008, the WPIAL will not participate in the PIAA Team Tournament.

The format for girls' golf is a team comprised of five golfers who play for a combined team total medal score for the day.  Only the top four scores will count to determine the team winner for the match.

All teams must field a minimum of four players.  Failure to field four players will result in a forfeit victory for the opponent, provided they have at least four players ready to play.

In case of a tie in total medal score, the medalist for both teams will play "sudden death" extra holes.  If there are co-medalists on either team, the coach will select one of them to compete in the tie-breaker.

INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The WPIAL individual championships will begin with a sectional qualifying tournament comprised of four players from each section team.  Each sectional qualifier will be hosted at one of the section courses.  The 2007-2008 sectional qualifiers have been scheduled for Wednesday, September 26, 2007.  The top nine players from each sectional tournament will advance to the final championship round. 

The Individual Championship Round will consist of thirty-six contestants - the top nine from each of the four sectional tournaments.  The Final Round will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at a course to be designated and will be managed by members of the Golf Committee.

The top twelve contestants from the WPIAL Final Round will qualify for the Western Regional PIAA Qualifying Round with the qualifiers from five other PIAA Western districts on Monday, October 15, 2007.  The top eleven contestants from the regional qualifier will qualify for the PIAA Championship finals at Heritage Hills Golf Course on October 22 & 23, 2007.
