CHEERLEADERS NA CHEERLEADING BOOSTER MEETING BOOSTER MEETING Monday, September 15, 2008 Update Because we are not a 501C3 organization, we are not tax exempt. We do get some benefits through our association with the school. Summer session for tumbling begins when school ends in June and ends when school begins. Tailgate this Friday, September 19th at 6:00 in NASH parking lot. Please call Jean Brown if you can supply any card tables. Coat drive is going to be at the North Hills game (at North Hills). JV and Freshman that would like to help can assist with the collection at the door. We are looking into a busfor the girls - more info to follow. Fundraising Jeanine, Anthea, and Patti did go ahead with the T-shirts. 1,350 shirts have been sold - the profit was $3.75 per shirt to date with 250 remaining to sell. T-shirts will be sold Thursday and Friday (9/18 & 9/19) at NASH. The following Friday, the athletic office will be selling Pine Richland theme shirts. Tambelini fund raiser - $636 was made - the profit was 40%. We will repeat this theweek after Thanksgiving with delivery in early December. Saris fund raiser - 32 bars to a box, $1 each and pretzels are 36 to a box also $1. Ordering one box of bars and two boxes of pretzels to sell at Friday night game. We will have extra for Senior Night. Betsy Ann - more information to follow. Cookie Dough fund raiser - set for November, more information to follow. NOTE - all fund raiser proceeds will be used to help with the transportation expenses for away games. UBO Reps are Diane Thumma and Marilyn Wagner. Kennywood ticket sales are down, considering lowering the price by $3. Scholarship applications will be on line 5/27, interviews will be one month prior to award. The trophy turf has been completed and the track has been relined. The athletic director is considering purchasing a marble tiger and iron fence as a beautification project. Homecoming Participants will be Middle school (all squads) and coaches, Freshman, JV and Varsity. Format will be similar to last year. All teams will have photos of homecoming sent to the web site. This year to make it new we will be using Giants (human puppets). Kami is contacting the varsity captains about a meeting to be held at NASH in room 319 - more to follow. Competition Flights to FL - dates and prices need to be determined. Once we have some arrangements, we can place a nonrefundable $50 deposit to secure the flights. We put this to a vote and it was approved for the payment of the deposit. The balances will be due 12/15 with the final payment due 12/31. Julie Hailstone approved minutes. Clothing Freshman clothing will be in this week. Varsity and JV fleeces and caps will be in by next week. Questions can be sent to Sandy Mancini. Freshman Reminder - Impact tests need to be completed ASAP. Snack schedule for games were sent out. Squad pictures on Thursday before the game. Any ?action shots' of the cheerleaders can be sent to Anthea. Varsity Schedules were sent by Joanne Vandergrift this week. We are looking to compete in a Robert Morris event in January in place of the Shaler competition. Volunteer opportunity at the YMCA for any 9th - 12th grade cheerleaders interested in teaching younger girls cheers. Please contact Joanne Vandergrift for details.
