North Allegheny Cheerleader Booster Meeting

Minutes


I. Welcome

Monica Gambino welcomed the members and thanked them for their attendance.

II. Approval of Minutes

The minutes were reviewed by the members and there were no additions or corrections. Beth Vuono moved that that the Minutes be approved. The motion was seconded by Lynne Warth. All member s voted in favor.

III. Old Business

a. Spirit T-Shirt Sale – Tina Hamm

Tina reported that the first order of T-shirts has been mostly sold and that we are waiting for delivery of the second order. Because of the Labor Day holiday, we will not receive the second order until Friday at best. Because of this, all middle school sales will be postponed one week. If the T-shirts are available early on Friday, sales may be held at NAI and NASH on Friday. We will try to have a modified order form extending the T-shirt sale at the elementary schools until September 14 th placed in the electronic envelope.

IV. New Business

a. Cheerleading Tailgate – September 10, 2010 – Kelly Gill

Kelly Gill reminded everyone to sign up for the Cheerleading Tailgate on Friday, September 10. The tailgate will start at 5:15 in the NASH parking lot in the farthest row from the street between the stadium and the high school.

b. Homecoming – October 1, 2010 – Amy Rafferty

Amy Rafferty discussed plans for Homecoming and suggested that cheerleaders who have younger sisters that would like to help carry the banners in the Homecoming parade could participate in addition to Tiger Pride cheerleaders. Amy will be sending out an email notice to see if anyone wants to participate.

V. Treasurer Report

The Treasurer’s report was made available to the members. Nominal new expenses were paid for paint and T-shirt start up costs since the last meeting. So far, we have sold $5000 worth of T-shirts.

VI. Clothing Report – Beth Vuono

Beth Vuono reported that all clothing ordered by the cheerleaders has been received and distributed.

VII. Fundraising – Beth Williams

Beth Williams reported that we are still reviewing whether the NA Cheerleading Boosters can participate in the Macy’s “Shop for a Cause” benefit. If we can participate, more information will be provided. In addition, the fundraising committee will work with the Board to identify fundraising needs for the rest of the year and set goals. This topic will be discussed at October’s meeting.

VIII. UBO Report – Sandi Binz

The first UBO meeting is Wednesday September 19, 2010.

IX. Squad Reports

a. Varsity – Patti Amos

Patti Amos reported on locker decorating for Senior nights and candy delivery to football players lockers for home games.

b. JV – Joanne Verez

Joan Verez reported that T-shirt sales by the JV parents went well. Joanne also reported that the JV cheerleader parents are looking for additional information regarding JV schedules for practice and games.

c. Freshman – Lynn Warth/Vicki Settino

Lynn Warth reported that the new Freshman squad coach is Chelsea Butera.
