BOYS' GOLF TIGERS REBOUND TO EDGE SHADY SIDE, 189-193 After two straight tough losses, the Tigers regrouped on Friday afternoon and defeated Shady Side Academy, 189-193, at the Fox Chapel Golf Club. Seniors P.J. Cassidy and Chris Garrett both shot an even par 35 to pace the Tigers to victory. Senior Jeff Hinds and sophomore Grant Martens recorded 39s. Randy Paris posted a 35 to lead the Indians. The non-section win improved the overall NA record to 7-3. The Tigers will host both Franklin Regional and North Hills on Wednesday afternoon at Diamond Run. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGERS DROP TOUGH ONE-STROKE MATCH TO PINE-RICHLAND, 200-201 The Pine-Richland Rams edged the Tigers by the smallest of margins, 200-201, at the Lakes Course at Treesdale on Thursday afternoon. Junior Michael Turner claimed medalist honors as he led NA with a one-over 37. Senior Jeff Hinds followed with a 39. David Owen recorded an even-par 36 to pace the Rams. The loss dropped the NA section record to 5-2, the overall mark to 6-3 on the season. The Tigers will be back in action again this afternoon when the travel to Shady Side Academy for a 3:15 pm non-section match. MATCH SUMMARY

The Fox Chapel Foxes ended the Tigers' six-match winning streak with a 186-197 victory at the Pittsburgh Field Club on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Jeff Hinds and junior J.P. McKim posted one-over 37s to pace the Tigers. Justin Kreps shot a one-under 35 to lead Fox Chapel. The loss dropped the NA overall record to 6-2 on the season. The Tigers will travel to Pine-Richland this afternoon to try to avenge their only section loss of the season. Tee off time is scheduled for 4:45 pm. MATCH SUMMARY

The Tigers hosted Seneca Valley at Diamond Run on Tuesday afternoon and were able to defeat the Raiders, 183-187. Leading the way for NA was sophomore Grant Martens with a two-under 33. Junior Michael Turner was second with a one-under 34. Brett Spagnola shot a 36 to pace the Raiders. The win was the sixth straight for the Tigers and improved their section record to 5-1, the overall mark to 6-1. The Tigers will travel to Fox Chapel this afternoon for a 4:00 pm non-section match. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * HINDS ONE-UNDER 34 LEADS TIGERS OVER SHALER Senior Co-Captain Jeff Hinds posted a one-under 34 at Diamond Run on Thursday afternoon to pace the Tigers to a 178-198 victory over section rival Shaler. The Tigers recorded a season low as four NA golfers recorded 36s. Senior P.J. Cassidy, juniors Michael Turner and J.P. McKim and sophomore Grant Martens were just one stroke over par for the winning Tigers. Mike Hartman and Michael Slliman recorded 38s to lead Shaler. The victory was the fifth straight for NA and improved their section record to 4-1, their overall mark to 5-1 on the season. Senior Jeff Hinds was one stroke behind at 36 while juniors Michael Turner and J.P. McKim both posted two over 37s. Tom and Rob Gillespie both shot 37s to lead the Knights. With the non-section victory, the Tigers improved their overall record to 4-1 on the season. NA will host the Shaler Titans today at Diamond Run in a section contest. Seniors P.J. Cassidy and Chris Garrett were two strokes behind at 39 as NA won their third consecutive section match. The victory improved the NA section record to 3-1. Senior Jeff Hinds led the way with a two-under 33 while juniors Michael Turner and J.P. McKim followed with 37s. Senior P.J. Cassidy was one stroke behind with a 38 as the Tigers improved their section record to 2-1. Chris Nugent paced the 'Canes with a 42. The Tigers will continue section play on Tuesday when they travel to Butler CC to meet rival Butler. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. MATCH SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGERS REBOUND TO DOWN NORTH HILLS, 181-201 After dropping their initial section match, the Tigers came back strong on Thursday afternoon to defeat archrival North Hills, 181-201, at Highland Country Club. Juniors Michael Turner and J.P. McKim posted even par 35s to pace the Tigers. Senior Chris Garrett shot a one-over 36 while sophomore Grant Martens added a 37 to help the Tigers to victory. John Powell recorded a 37 to lead the Indians. The win evened the Tigers section record at 1-1 on the season. NA will be back in action again on Monday when they travel to Sewickley Academy for a 4:00 pm non-section match. MATCH SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * PINE-RICHLAND DOWNS TIGERS IN SECTION OPENER The Pine-Richland Rams defeated the Tigers, 187-196, in the section opener at Diamond Run on Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore Grant Martens shot a 38 to lead NA while seniors Chris Garrett and Jeff Hinds both posted 39s. Pine-Richland was led by a trio of golfers --- Evan Afffinito, David Owen, and Ryan Bogosta --- who recorded 37s. The loss marked the first time that Pine-Richland had ever defeated NA at their home course. The Tigers will travel to North Hills tomorrow afternoon to meet the Indians in a section match. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGERS WIN PETERS TOWNSHIP INVITATIONAL The Tigers started the new season successfully by edging Peters Township by one stroke to win the Peters Township Invitational at Rolling Hills on Monday morning. Senior Jeff Hinds led the way for NA with a 75 with senior P.J. Cassidy posting a 76. Junior Michael Turner chipped in with a 79 for the winning Tigers. Eight teams participated in the tournament with NA scoring 391 to 392 for the host school. NA will host Pine-Richland this afternoon as the Tigers open section play.
