GIRLS' TENNIS
LADY TIGERS BOW OUT OF WPIAL TOURNAMENT
Senior Sabrina Smyers defeated Laura Handy of Upper St. Clair, 10-2, before leaving her quarterfinal match against Mary Wilson of Latrobe because of injury. Freshman Jen Larimore was defeated by Bobbilyn Anthony of Shady Side Academy, 10-5, in the first round.
In team action, the Lady Tigers will host Pine-Richland tomorrow afternoon at the Senior High courts. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm.

LADY TIGERS PERFECT IN 5-0 WIN OVER AMBRIDGE
The Lady Tigers did not lose a game in a 5-0 pasting of Ambridge at the Senior High courts on Friday afternoon. Freshman Jen Larimore stepped into the #1 position to lead the way with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Connie Topolowski.
In other singles action, sophomore Stephanie Kaiser and junior Jen Donaldson both won straight set victories. In doubles action, the team of senior Anne Elise Wilson and Liz Lampe kept the shutout alive with 6-0, 6-0 wins over Ambridge while at #2 doubles, it was senior Suzy Urish and sophomore Yilu Zhang with the two-set victory.
The win improved the overall record to 6-0 on the season.

LADY TIGERS WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT TO STAY UNBEATEN
Led by a sweep of the singles' competition, the Lady Tigers defeated North Hills, 4-1, at North Hills on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Sabrina Smyers downed Carrie Lippert, 6-0, 6-1, while freshman Jen Larimore won in two sets without losing a game. At #3 singles, sophomore Stephanie Kaiser won in two sets over Athena Pappis, 7-6, 6-1.
In doubles competition, the #1 team of senior Anne Elise Wilson and junior Liz Lampe was victorious in two sets over the #1 North Hills team, 6-1, 6-0.
The win was the fifth consecutive victory for the Lady Tigers and kept them unbeaten in section play with a 5-0 record. NA will host Ambridge tomorrow afternoon in a non-section match. The starting time at the Senior High courts is scheduled for 3:00 pm.

TWO LADY TIGERS QUALIFY FOR WPIAL SINGLES TOURNAMENT
Senior Samantha Smyers was defeated by Vanessa Steiner, 6-1, 6-1, in the finals of the Section 2 Singles tournament at the Senior High courts on Tuesday afternoon. In the consolation final, freshman Jen Larimore downed Sarah Lynch of Pine-Richland, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4. Both Smyers and Larimore have qualified for the WPIAL Singles Championships to be held next Monday and Tuesday.
Smyers won two matches at the Senior High courts on Monday afternoon to advance to the final of the Section Singles tournament. After receiving a bye in the first round, the Tiger senior defeated Sara Long of Hampton, 10-0, in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Smyers knocked off Sara Lynch of Pine-Richland, 6-3, 6-4. Smyers will meet Vanessa Steiner of Hampton in the championship match this afternoon.
After receiving a first round bye, Larimore defeated Blakeley Mall of Pine-Richland, 10-1, to move on the semifinals. Steiner defeated Larimer, 6-2, 6-2.

FOUR STRAIGHT FOR LADY TIGERS
The Lady Tigers shut out Shaler, 5-0, on Thursday afternoon at the Senior High courts for their fifth consecutive victory. NA lost only three games in blanking the Titans. In singles play, all three Lady Tigers posted shut outs! Senior Sabrina Smyers, freshman Jen Larimore, and freshman Cody McCoy all won their matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
The two doubles teams were victorious in straight sets. In the #1 doubles match, senior Anne Elise Wilson and junior Liz Lampe teamed up again for a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lisa Buzzelli and Carolyn Shields. Junior Molly Moynihan and senior Suzy Urish won by a count of 6-1 and 6-1.
The victory kept the Lady Tigers undefeated in section play with a record of 4-0. NA will travel to North Hills to meet the Indians in a section match on Wednesday. The scheduled starting time is set for 3:30 pm.

LADY TIGERS WIN THIRD STRAIGHT
The Lady Tigers defeated Pine-Richland, 4-1, at Pine-Richland on Wednesday afternoon to improve their section record to 3-0. Leading the way for NA were Jen Larimore and sophomore Stephanie Kaiser with victories in singles play. Both doubles teams were victorious for the winning Lady Tigers.
At #2 singles, Larimore defeated Blakley Mall, 6-3, 6-2, while Kaiser followed with a two-set victory over Shelby Merelly. In doubles play, the team of senior Anne Elise Wilson and junior Liz Lampe took care of Kelly Robinson and Bridgett Loiselle in two sets. At #2 doubles, senior Suzy Urish and junior Molly Moynihan defeated Sara Strollo and Marla Dedadis, 6-2, 6-2.
The section singles competition will be held on Monday and Tuesday. We will have results as soon as we receive them.

HAMPTON FALLS TO LADY TIGERS, 4-1
The Lady Tigers defeated Hampton, 4-1, at Hampton on Tuesday afternoon. Jen Larimore defeated Sara Longo, 6-2, 6-1, at #2 singles and Cody McCoy won at #3 singles to pace the NA victory.
In doubles play, both Lady Tiger teams were victorious. At #1 doubles, senior Anne Elise Wilson and junior Liz Lampe defeated Erica Lombardo and Kristine Sherred, 6-7, 6-0, and 6-1. At #2 doubles, it was junior Molly Moynihan and senior Suzy Urish with a 7-6, 6-3 victory.
With the win, NA improved their record to 2-0 in section play. The Lady Tigers will travel to Pine-Richland this afternoon for another section match. The scheduled starting time is set for 3:30 pm.

LADY TIGERS BLANK BUTLER, 5-0, IN SECTION OPENER
The Lady Tigers defeated the Butler Golden Tornado, 5-0, in the section opener on Thursday afternoon at the Senior High courts. Led by senior Sabrina Smyers at #1 singles, NA lost only five games in sweeping the Tornado.
In the #1 singles match, Smyers knocked off Courtney Kerr, 6-0, 6-0. At #2 singles, Jen Larimore was victorious over Kristin Cyper, 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Stephanie Kaiser defeated Maggie McGlinis in the #3 singles match. Both NA doubles teams won in two sets. Senior Anne Elise Wilson and junior Liz Lampe teamed up to beat Angke Brynes and Elisa Nesbitt in the #1 doubles match. At #2 doubles, it was the team of junior Molly Moynihan and senior Suzie Urish coming home with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Hampton to meet the Talbots in a section match. The scheduled starting time is set for 3:30 pm.
