GIL WINS POLE VAULT AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Meet Results

Senior Sean Gil won the pole vault at the PTFCA Indoor State Championships on Saturday with a vault of 15'0".  Senior Jade Hambrick took third in the shot put on the girls' side with a distance of 41' 1 1/2" while senior Garrett Larkin was fourth in the boys' shot put with a 57' 6 1/4".  Senior Kristen Zeleznik tied for sixth in the pole vault with a height of 11'0".

Senior Kelly Langhans placed 10th in the 400 while sophomore Cody McCoy was eliminated in the preliminary heats of the 60 meter hurdles.

LANGHANS, GIL CAPTURE TITLES AT
TSTCA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Meet Results

Seniors Kelly Langhans and Sean Gil took first place medals at the TSTCA Indoor Championships at Slippery Rock University on Friday.  Langhans ran a 59.68 to win the 400.  Senior Kristen Zeleznik won silver in the pole vault with a vault of 9'9" while senior Jade Hambrick was second in the shot put with a distance of 41' 3 1/4".  Sophomore Cody McCoy finished 4th in the 55 meter hurdles and 15th in the 400.  The 4 x 200 relay team finished in 6th place.  The girls' team placed third in the team competition.

For the boys, Gil won the pole vault with a height of 14' 9" as he continued to dominate the event.  In the shot put senior Garrett Larkin was fifth with a throw of 52' 6" with senior Tom Keiser finishing in seventh place.  Sophomore Matt Machiko came in sixth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.85.  Junior Justin Taylor ran the mile in 4:47.08 to finish ninth.  The 4 x 800 meter relay team also posted a ninth place finish.

Next up for the indoor teams will be the Pennsylvania Indoor Championships on Saturday at Penn State.  The starting time is scheduled for 10:30 am.

FOUR TIGERS WIN EVENTS AT FOURTH TSTCA MEET

Meet Results

Four Tigers captured first place finishes at the fourth TSTCA meet at the University of Pittsburgh on Thursday afternoon.  For the Lady Tigers, senior Kelly Langhans ran a 2:24.3 to win the 880 yard race.  In field events, senior Jade Hambrick took first in the shot put with a throw of 41'10" while senior Kristen Zeleznik won the pole vault with a height of 10'3".

In boys' competition, senior Sean Gil continued to shine in the pole vault taking first with a height of 14-3".  In the shot put, senior Garrett Larkin was third and senior Tom Keiser eighth.  On the track, senior Jacob Beatty placed 6th in the 880 while junior Justin Taylor was 7th in the mile run.

The Tiger teams will be back in action again on Friday when they travel to Slippery Rock for the TSTCA Championship meet.  The starting time for the meet is scheduled for 4:00 pm.

McCOY WINS BRONZE IN THIRD TSTCA MEET

Meet Results

Sophomore Cody McCoy finished in third place in the 400 meters with a time of 1:04.7 at the third TSTCA meet of the year at Slippery Rock University.  McCoy also place in the 55 meter hurdles finishing in sixth place.  The girls' 4x200 meter relay team took a seventh place in the meet.

In boys' competition, the 4x800 meter relay team was fourth while the distance medley relay squad finished in eighth place.  In individual competition, junior Dan O'Brien was sixth and junior Matt Jacob eighth in the 3000 meter run.

The Tiger teams will be back in action again on Thursday, February 8, at the fourth TSTCA meet at the University of Pittsburgh.  Meet time is scheduled for 4:00 pm.

SECOND TSTCA MEET

Senior Sean Gil vaulted 14'9" to win the pole vault and Kelly Langhans ran a 1:01.2 to take the 400 in the second TSTCA meet of the year at the University of Pittsburgh.  Tiger team members also recorded four second place finishes.  Sophomore Brian Austin ran a 7.1 in the 60 meter dash, senior Garrett Larkin had a 52' 11" in the shot put, senior Jade Hambrick posted a 38'3" also in the shot put, and junior Cecily Sunday vaulted 8'0" to capture silver medals.

Also placing for NA were sophomore Cody McCoy who was fifth in the 60 meter hurdles, sophomore Matt Machiko sixth in the hurdles, junior Matt Jacob sixth in the 3000 meters, senior Tom Keiser sixth in the shot put, senior Steph Ertzberger sixth in the 60 meter dash, senior Maura Higgins sixth in the long jump, and junior Justin Taylor seventh in the 3000.

In other meets, Larkin and Hambrick were first in the Shot Put Meet at Thomas Jefferson while junior Stephanie Graf took a fifth in the Pole Vault Meet at Butler.

FIRST TSTCA MEET

Meet Results

Senior Sean Gil took first place in the pole vault with a height of 14' in the opening meet of the TSTCA at the University of Pittsburgh on Saturday.  Sophomore Brian Austin captured third place in the 60 meter dash and the 4 x 880 yard relay finished in eighth place.

In womens' events, two NA team members placed second in their respective events.  Senior Jade Hambrick was second in the shot put with a distance of 37' 10-1/4" while senior Kristen Zeleznik took second in the pole vault with a height of 9'.  Senior Maura Higgins was fifth in the long jump.

The Tiger team will be in action again on Thursday in the second meet in the TSTCA season.  The starting time is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the Cost Center at the University of Pittsburgh.
